One of the local guys is quitting tabletop wargaming and is selling off his stuff. He has some never used, still in the box Orcs and goblins from way back when (I think it's 4th or 5th edition). I've been considering starting an OnG army, and was wondering if this stuff is worth my time, and what a fair price would be for it? He is asking $100 for all of it. Back in the day, all of this would of retailed for over that easy, but that was then and this is now. Any insight would be appreciated. He has:
1 war chariot
1 wolf chariot
1 box of wolf riders
1 box of boar boys
2 boxes of black orcs
1 box of orcs (1/2 melee, 1/2 bows)
1 box of goblins (1/2 melee, 1/2 bows)
3 metal fanatics
1 stone troll
1 war wyvern
1 blister of banners
OOP 4th-5th edition Orcs and Goblins - What are they worth?

It looks like a pretty decent deal at a hundred bucks. The main thing you need to consider with older OOP models is, do YOU like the way they look? If you do, then go for it. I myself have an entire OOP Rogue Trader era Space Marine army. My friends constantly make fun of me about them 'cause their old and kinda ugly looking, but I really like them. That's the important thing about OOP models, if you like 'em, they're worth your time.

Go on, laugh! But one day, you'll be sitting in your house feeling all safe and secure... Then you'll look over and I'll be there... Doin'... stuff!

For $100, I would take it. Lot of stuff there - and a lot of it is pretty nice looking, IMO.
Even if you bring it over here, and trade it out - you can probably get more than $100 in trade value for it.

I'm going to have to disagree with this. I've had a bear of a time trying to move OOP stuff on Bartertown. Most people want newest edition models only. Maybe I'm just trying to deal with the wrong people though.eman1_2 wrote:Even if you bring it over here, and trade it out - you can probably get more than $100 in trade value for it.

Thanks for the input. I've had the same experience trying to move OOP minis, unless they are oldschool players/hobbyists (like myself), people want newer minis. Ultimatly, I think I'm going to make a reasonable but lower offer than he's asking and see what happens.
