Well, if the slide hits the belt perpedicularly, then that will be under a lot of stress since it's completely changing direction. It does sound pretty miraculous that it all works.

Won't make me any more understanding if MY mail gets shredded, though

Being a relatively new trader here and doign business on both here and flea bay
i dont ever add shipping and handling charges i generally cover all shipping costs on a trade like we all should as a merchant here as well
i dont charge extra for big orders god knows i should.. postage costs suck...

however if the buyer wishes to pay via paypal i always always always tell them up front if you use paypal you must add 4.5% to the total thats what they charge me i have other options for buyng items why should i suffer the additional cost when i already offer a 25% discount and free shipping?

seems pretty fair to me your opinions are welcome

TDZ...

I use PayPal, as well...
I'd like to know what part YOU are using that you're being charged 4.5%.

Mine, IIRC, is around 2.5%.

On top of that... Do you realize that you're violating your PayPal agreement? Part of what you agreed to in opening your PayPal account was to NOT charge extra fees for using their service. Now, don't get me wrong... I'm not coming down on you... just making sure you're aware of that.

If someone was to report you to PayPal, they'd probably come down relatively hard on you. Obviously, the first time or two would only be a warning but I wouldn't be surprised to see them shut down an account over it.

BTW... With your prices and free shipping, I'd imagine you'd do a lot of online sales.... and I can understand the desire to have the fee paid by the buyer, at that price.

Eric
to be honest i wasnt aware of that.. Im not surprised paypal would have a clause like that, be that as it may if thats what comes down then my only choice will be a simple one i just wont accept paypal....that will be a bit of a pain but i dont like making someone else rich

you mentioned what they charge me i have a business account with them not a personal one maybe thats the difference.. i dont know but every time i get a payment right off the top 4.5% cya.. cant do that not and do my prices where i have them

who knows

I wouldn't go so far as to stop accepting PayPal... I would just keep doing what you are doing. Anyone who thinks about it KNOWS what a good deal they're getting from you.

Let me put it to you straight up.

If I have a small to large-ish order, I will probably give you a line forst.
If I have a REALLY big order, I will probably go to someone else I've used before.

You offer a 25% discount, straight up, with free shipping. That's AWESOME! Other places offer 20% and you can work up to 25% if you buy enough. That makes me want to come see you. Especially since you ALWAYS ship fee and your competition only ships free if you buy $X amount, typically.

On the other hand, there is this place I have used before that has great service. If you buy $500 (retail), you get 30% off.... Shipping is still free and everything. When I place my huge order, I'll see him again 9we've already begun discussing it, in fact).

Don't get me wrong. I'm not pointing out where you are failing & someone else is doing better... in fact, I'm doing just the opposite.
I'm praising your discounts on the smaller sales. Once word gets around, you'll probably start reeling in loads of smaller sales.

Your added fee?... it's reasonable to me and anyone else who stops to think about how much they're saving.
