Did he pay a lot for them? If so, it could definitely be buyer's remorse.
How long has he had them? Long enough to make molds of them, by any chance?

I absolutely suggest that you stick to your guns here. If you're certain that they aren't fakes, then tell the guy as much. Also, tell feebay, too.
If he insists they're fake, have him prove it.

At this point, there isn't much he can do. Ebay will debit him, or put a hold on his account and potentially go after the money in other means.

Not necessarily.
As kturock pointed out, the buyer does not always win.

SS said that ebay already ruled against him. I don't know how to link to a specific post, but take a look at SS's last update in the thread.

Does E-Bay have any issues with you zapping him with negatives or adding into your account a warning on him for others to see?
I will say that even though there is no actual "proof" that they are fakes, there are enough issues that I hope you accurately described the faults or provided pictures of them (highlighting the faults) in the original advertisement.

Feebay does not have an ability that allows SELLERS to leave bad references for BUYERS any longer.
That is one of the biggest complaints about how they operate currently.

Gah.
I was gone all weekend and didn't notice I was still on Pg 1 while everyone was already on pg 3.

Sucks, SS.

I say empty your paypal account and tell them to bite you when they ask for the money!

Another reason for me not to use feebay. Ah, well. Guess I'll have to hold to all my 80s and 90s comic books a bit longer.

I did not know that. That sucks. Not just for ss but in general because as we all know, "buyers" can be jerks just as much as sellers.
I have bought a handful of things off of there over the years and sold a few things as well (through a store who had an account) and never had any issues personally. I suppose if I were more "prolific" I'da encountered a jerk sooner or later.
Kinda agree with you on cleaning out the paypal account. Unless of course they come after you legally. If you change your mind later, I suppose you could always just start a new account (ebay as well as paypal).
Good Luck.

He claims both my auctions I sold to him are fakes. A blatant lie.
So Ebay has decided to refund his money on one auction when he provides a tracking #. Not when I get the items back in good condition- just a tracking #. I will be going over the figs with a magnifying glass, and if they are not exactly as I sent them , I'll be contacting Ebay again.
For the other auction, they are letting him keep the figures AND refunding his money!!! Un Forkn beleivable. They are not having me refund the money though. Its in "appreciation"..... Great- reward his lies.
----------------------------------
From Ebay:

Dear Chad,

Thank you for contacting eBay Customer Support regarding your recent Not
as Described case for item # 120562799720. I understand it can be very
frustrating to have to open case in the Resolution Center to get a
problem resolved, but we truly appreciate your cooperation.

Rather than have you spend time to wait for this item back and the buyer
wait for a refund, we'd like to do you a favor to show our appreciation,
and issue the buyer a refund today for the full amount of this
transaction (the cost of the item and the original shipping to them).

The buyer does not have to return the item to you and the refund will
not be taken from your account.

----------------------------------

Rewarded for lying- im gonna remember that & buy something on Ebay now.

Well- 20 Hobgoblin Warriors will appearing here i guess.

If it were me, once I got the models back I would contact GW and see if I couldn't get the models verified as "originals" with a letter of authentication.

If eBay has already ruled one way then that's it.

They are like insurance companies after an accident, they will not back down without strong evidence like REALLY strong evidence. This is not a fight you will win without spending more time or recources that you are fighting for.

Let it go, take the loss, and list them again here and don't use eBay.

I honostly believe yours are genuine but it's not a fight worth doing.

Well that sucks!

I have had some success dealing with eBay on the phone. It might be worth it to give them a call and see what sort of resolution you can reach.

As far as the whole issue of the minis themselves is concerned, I'm interested that you asserted in the original eBay ad that the Hobgoblin Warriors were not fakes or recasts, when your original post in this thread indicated a definite lack of certainty as to their authenticity.

I didn't see any comparison photos from the second (Sneaky Gits) auction, so its difficult to comment on those, but the pics you showed here of the Warriors does leave the possibility open. Why resort to calling the guy a "liar"? You yourself aren't certain that they're real.

This:
starslayer wrote:Well- it might turn out OK after-all. I contacted the person I bought them from & he agreed to reimburse me for the auction price of the figs. Hes being very good about it.
The Ebay buyer can send them directly to him & I will refund his money.
suggests that the guy who sold them to YOU may not be sure they're real either.

This whole situation seems FUBARed.

Please note, starslayer, that I am not in any way accusing you or suggesting that you have knowingly done something bad here.

Sorrow- i feel the guy is a liar. Both auctions fake? (out of 20+) And just happens to be the 2 I sold HIM. Come on....Well, I could not be 100% sure of anything. i didnt take them out of a GW package myself. If they were recasts- they were extremely good ones. But i am 99% sure they are genuine, thats all anyone acn be unless they got them out of the package themselves.
Oh well. Screw it and screw Ebay.

Looking at the pictures of the models, I would have been very unhappy even if they were real GW models and likely have called them or sent them pictures of them for new ones if I had bought them out of a box (unable to see them beforehand) and if I had seen them in a blister, I most definitely would not have bought them due to the defects. Did you provide pictures of them in the advertisement highlighting the defects and describing them so that any potential buyer would know what they were getting?
