as for the extortion, I ask you this.... and try to really put yourself in this place.

You and I set up a trade.
We agree on terms, conditions, etc... You even send me a PICTURE of the models so there is no confusion, no doubt, no suprises.

My feedback is slightly higher than yours, so I ask you to ship first. you of course, agree, and ship them quickly to me.

I get them, and then tell you "Um.... they are not what I thought.... send me money or I keep them!"

You even went so far as to send me a picture!
I think you would be a tad bit upset.

In the example you refer to, you make an excellent point... and I agree.

IMO, you're looking at it wrong...

If we agree a trade and I send you a bunch of images of GREAT minis during it, then one fuzzy image of the ones I'm ACTUALLY sending at the end, then when you get it you say "these are not what you told me i was getting," then I deserve what I get.

The facts in your example don't make sense for this particular instance.

Buyers remorse is one thing. I don't find that to EVER be a good reason to cancel a trade. Misrepresentation, however, is something severely different.

Try to remember in this situation you are only getting one side of the story.
It is my experience that when the other party gets their say, it will be pretty much opposite or contrary to the original post.

I do indeed sometimes play devils advocate, but history shows that until the other side gets their say, i reserve judgement, or, as in this case, err on the side of caution.

I remember the "Jaylikesskaven"(I believe) thread, where it sure looked bad, but when all the facts were brought out, the exact opposite was true!

Then you get the drop zone threads, but I will pass that right along...

All I am saying, is if it was me, I would have asked for a clear picture!
If I was going to post a BTR, I would also post the pictures as proof.

Well, now, that's true. There are 3 sides to every story. My side, your side and the truth.

That being said, I will only comment on the "facts" given. Now, should the other party pipe in with other information, I could easily switch my opinion if there's proof enough to do it.

Honestly, I'd bother to post the transcriptions if A) I thought it mattered, B) if I was posting a BTR, and C) If there wasen't likely 50+ messages to sort through, including pictures, and D) if I wasen't trying to preserve the other party's right to privacy (as my initial question was 'What sort of feedback should I leave?' not 'What do you think about what this guy is trying to pull?'.)

So yeah, there's always 3 sides to a story, but please don't assume I'm intentionally hiding something.

As for the old saying I quoted... I stand by its meaning, but don't take it personally.

Essentially, it means that EVERYONE'S side of a story is clouded by their own opinions and point of view.

I agree with Anglacon. Thats why I was puzzled that he saw pics. If the pics were not misleading and he accepted the deal,then I think he is out of luck. Unless the figs arrived in a different condition then the pic. The other party needs to tell his side of the story.
Hopefully they can come up with some kind of amicable solution.

That's why I paid for the shipping back. There's always that bottom line of 'You saw pics.' The rest though is not OK. You don't drop trade offer amounts by drastic proportions on items you think are 'fine'. That strikes me as a 'They knew' hint right there.
