I to would be nice if USPS would accept that leaving packages on porches is a bad idea, since, you know, it's not like this is the FIRST time this has ever happened.

But it is very suspicious that the recipient will not act.

You should PM one of the staff with his ID and maybe we can get a discussion going.

Most people don't "think it'll happen to them" and would rather the carrier leave it; rather than then having to "come all the way down here".

You file a BTR and begin the police reporting process.

btr is a bad trader report. IF the other trader steals, send broken stuff, dosent PM in a timely fashion than you open the correct one of those to alert everyone on BT about it.

As far as the police report goes I cannot speak about it as your in another country. Im sure other members here can enlighten you.
In an act of kindness and respect, please respond to PMs one way or the other with in a timely manner.
Im sorry but I do not ship outside the US.

Forgive me for sounding like an ass but, seriously... read the rules and familiarize yourself with the site.
If you don't know your way around here yet, you definitely shouldn't be trading yet. That's a first step towards making things as painless for yourself as possible.

What is the trade rating on the other member?

Lower rating? You ship first.

Refusal to even file a report is fishy to the max.
Was this a sizable trade? Was the package of significant value?

I agree.. not wanting to do anything about it, to me, seems really fishy. I feel he is ripping you off personally... if he doesn't want to do anything to help get your models back AND doesn't want to go through with his side of the trade then I'd say he is playing you. I would open up a police report about the package even if he doesn't want to, your out due to "theft", who knows, maybe with your action he will "find" the box somewhere on the porch he didn't look.

Something definitely is up about this.

I hope this doesnt count as a thread derail but its on the same subject as lost/stolen/misdelivered mail and my experience. Two weeks ago I came to an agreement with a Bartertown member in doing some custom model work with a piece he had. He sent the piece out to me, gave me the tracking number, told me it should arrive the following thursday. The following monday i did my first purchase from another member, he sent the purchase out, and it arrived wednesday no hitches. I didnt think anything about the first modeling deal until thursday night late after i got off work, it still hadnt shown up. I pulled up the tracking number and was shocked to find out that it was "delivered" wednesday at 2:32pm. I re-searched my house, my porch and my neighborhood type mailbox to no avail. I immediately contacted the person involved in the deal an let him know what was up. But i did a little more research, i pulled up the tracking for my purchase and it showed it arrived at 2:31pm! 1 minute apart! Extremely fishy! I went to the usps office the next morning and brought my two tracking numbers to the supervisor. He pulled them up and discovered that the two packages were delivered 1 minute apart by different scanners. He called the regular carrier up and my regular guy was off that day, but he said hed look for it. The supervisor then called the fill-in carrier and the carrier said he only remembered delivering one package. The supervisor told me id probably have to file with the postal inspectors. I went home and told my wife, who, being the amazing woman she is, went door to door in our neighborhood to see if anyone had gotten it. Longer story short, turns out it was placed in the lockbox and the key was dropped in the wrong mailbox, our next door neighbor brought it to us late that night, not before opening and then resealing the box, and after telling my wife he didnt find anything in the mail. This is actually the second time our neighbor has intercepted our larger packages that we know of and has held on to it for a couple days.
Hope that wasnt a derail, but i just wanted to share my experience with this type of situation.
2 . Always send a package to me as Do Not Leave On Porch/Do not leave unattended.
3. Its good manners to reply, even if its just to say screw you!
3a. Ill always respond to you, within 24 hours. I have emIl alerts! If you don't reply within 24 hours, the deal is null. 24 hours in this day and age is plenty enough time to send another message to stall for more time.

Yea I fear it wont end like this for me... Its been 8 days since I had news from the other trader. That is sad. I send another e-mail today remembering him that I want to close this mess once and for all.

But I fear The only thing I will have to do is a bad trader reports... and I lost my whole army, for nothing.

As has been said; his reluctance to go to the police is disturbing, and does NOT look good for him.
Here are my suggestions. While you can take them as "Admin" advice, note that I speak for myself and not "officially" in this matter:
1) PM him a link to this thread and ask that he look over it for advice.
2) Advise him that the police NEED to be involved.
3) Inform him that, if he does not contact his local PD, you will contact YOUR local PD. Also tell him that, once you have a police report #, you will contact his local PD and ask them to look into it. Likely, their investigation will start at his front porch.
I will not presume anything about your trade partner but, in cases like this -where the package is missing and the other guy won't go to the police- it is typically because the box is not ACTUALLY missing.
