or a very, affluent area, where you expect to pay more.
palm beach, or any of the 'tourist traps in central florida near orlando. [i don't dare say the names for fear of being sued]
[sometimes i switch the words affluent and effluent, most times without much difference]
Meh, thats an exception. That wouldnt work the world over though. Theres something missing from that area that makes people value McDs at $10 (or they wouldnt be open).
I went to Disney last week, and a shake smaller than a coke can is $4, but where else are you going to eat in there?
And when youre dying of thirst $4 doesnt sound like much...

Yeah, that's what you call supply and demand. They stick you in an area, you've a limited environment to work with, you don't know the place, so you go to the place selling 4$ water bottles. Kinda like on the internet, when you've got hundreds of vendors clamoring over each other to sell their wares, undercutting the other over and over until good products go cheap.
Oh, wait. Were we talking about price as a constant here? I'm sorry, I'll stop complicating the conversation then. A 10$ piece of terrain is always going to be cheap and shoddy, I'm sorry for thinking that the price was in many cases irrelivent.
/end sarcasm.
Now let's get back on topic here. I wanna hear what you artists have to say on the topic, no more price arguments.

DCT... We're talking apples and oranges here.
With that stuff, any reasonable person KNOWS what he's getting.
First off, an example more in line with yours:
Do you have CiCi's pizza places by you?
For those who don't... CiCi's is a buffet pizza chain in (AFAIK) The US only. For $5 bucks, you get all you can eat pizza, pasta, soup, salad bar cheesebread and dessert style pizzas (note that menu varies by region, I've noticed).
If you went into this place, where you can eat for $5 and the food was cr@ppy, would that be okay? What if you went on Wednesday where your kid eats free (assuming you have kids and your CiCi's has that promo) and the kids food was cr@ppy. Would that be okay? Shoot. It was even cheaper than yours.
To support my initial comment, though... You're buying these things sight unseen. You expect them to meet a certain quality. You shouldn't bring price into account here because the auction could have gone for $50 as easily as the $10 it DID go for. That part can't be controlled.
If I'd been bidding against the OP and the auction went for $50... would he be justified in being upset then? I don't see how... the seller did absolutely NOTHING different to control the final proce.
Also... if I got a cruddy McBurger that didn't meet the quality I expect for my money... I'd take it back.
EDIT:
Sorry. Posted before I got to the last post.

Lower rating? You ship first.

To get some humor out of life and pass it on to other folk.
I think what this situation needs is some imagination.
