Nice.
If its "only" $4.55, the guy shoud pay TDZ the money. Obviously this new trader's reputation here means less than $5 to him.....

Drop Zone shouldn't be out the money. He did NOTHING wrong, and everything right.
If $4.55 means so little, everyone please send it to me.

Whats "nice" is Drop Zone extended him a courtesy and got screwed over for it. Btown doesn't need new traders like that.

Agreed.

I think it should also be pointed out that TDZ shipped before the item was even purchased to a person with lower ratings. This is no small detail. It just seems a little weird that TDZ (or anyone for that matter) would send an item to someone who didn't pay for it and they didn't know.

Like I mentioned earlier, at least the other trader had the honesty to send it back - whether they could not pay for it, didn't want to trade, whatever the reason (which is really somewhat of a moot point). This is NOT (as has been mentioned) something a dishonest "Ticknor" would do.

TDZ, if you're going to leave a neg, at least have the respect to post a BTR. I DO NOT agree with Magickal re this. Everyone should have to post a BTR when leaving neg feedback as it provides evidence and details about the trade. Simply leaving a neg ref with "I'm out $5 on shipping" (BTW, $5 shipping for a blister??? Seems a bit much...) without providing some documentation is specious at best.
Trading Guidelines:
1. Lower rating ships first - even if I am purchasing.
2. If you agree to buy something, you have 72hrs. in which to pay. If payment is not received in 72hrs., I will automatically post a Non-Payment/Backout thread.
3. Refs are left upon positive receipt of goods, NEVER beforehand!
4. I accept Paypal & USPS money orders and charge for shipping AT COST. I make no profit from it.
5. I trade NIB/new models at retail.

Shipping by cassette box (thats what the po calls those size boxes) with priority shipping is $4.05 add delivery conformation its $4.55 each and every time

secondly.. i shipped it first as the "buyer" was concerned over the negative issues with the previous bitz orders.. thus i relented and shipped the product first... an earnest attempt to calm some fears.. silly of me but i went and took the chance

now to be more concise here
i shipped the package january 5th i got the box back on the 10th of february well over a month later. not only did i lose the money from the sale i lost the ability to sell the model to another customer and im out the money i spent to ship the item in the first place

now i am of the impression if i spend money to send you a product and you dont want it paying for the cost of postage is normal if you have ever ordered anything from a tv ad you can always return it minus the shipping charges.. only in this case i didnt get the money for the sale to start with

now i wont go into alot more detail here but i have a long list of pms saying the money was sent several times... to my gf mailed it late whatever... the bottom line is this

they didnt pay... i got the product back in the conditon i sent it... that gives them a little bit of credibility but im out money for their thoughless act.. thus to me a neg feedback would be ok.... and warrented

i sent them a pm requesting my money they have not responded as of yet its been 4 days

you know i got hammered by people pretty hard when they didnt get product they paid for.... in none of those cases did they ever ask me to refund the money i did so on my own because it was the right thing to do... and im still catching flack for that!!!!

the right thing for this trader to do would be to pay the money i spent in postage to cover the fact they backed out of a deal...

small amount yes but its is the principle of the thing

and i wanted to ask this not to flame the person but to ask a legit question

NuWishA

at what amount is no longer ok to steal? $4.56, $4.57 please let me know

yes this is a very sarcastic poke dont take it personally please

Lower rating? You ship first.

Give me a sense of humor Lord. Give me the grace to see a joke.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

No offense taken MM. We've never traded with each other. Based on your FB rating, I would expect to ship first if we did work out a deal together.

It often helps to read all of the posts in a thread. $4.55 was clearly stated as an assumption by me. This, ofcourse, is based on the fact that that's what I generally pay for shipping and handling when sending out small to medium trades. Hoorah! Turns out I was right on the MONEY!

I have had trades where a buyer agreed to pay $X.00 and they actually paid $Y.40. I did not like it, but I wasn't going to waste my time over $.60 since PP might have charged that too. IMO, anything over a $1 is something to look into. Anytime you are unsatisfied about a deal, you have a reason and the right to look into it.

This is not a case of a trade being agreed to and then not happening. The trade was conducted. I don't see how anyone could think that TDZ should have to simply bite the bullet and take a loss. This isn't the stock market. This is B-town. Every trader has the right to demand that they either complete an agreed upon trade (Mini for mini OR $ for Mini) or at the least, not be out anything. In this case, TDZ is out $4.55. In this case he has every right and reason to post Negative FB.

Another way to handle this would be for some of the care bears to ante up and send Robert the money themselves. After all, it is ONLY $4.55.

thanks flagg
but the 4.55 should only come from one source and one source only im not hurting for the 4.55 but its the prinicple of the thing since the buyer questioned my integrity then screwed me over

they have till friday to have the check or money in my hand if not then i leave appropriate feedback

I love you too....except when you make me angry. Then I want to throw dishes @ your head!

Anyway, I think this thread is becoming a lttle too much interpretation. I think that TDZ should post a BTR re: this and let us all see the PM/email thread and (perhaps) hear the accused' side of things

You know what they say. "Where there's smoke, there's fire."

You should sell bumper stickers and T-shirts. "WWDZD?"
(What Would Drop Zone Do?) :-D

Sorry about your loss,I'm glad it wasn't alot. I'm even happier we'll all probably be rid of this guy for good.
Why can't some people just come here and trade/sell minis without stealing?

IMO, you never should have shipped without payment. If he's got a lower rating, he needs to pay first. If he doesn't do this, don't ship.

That said, once you both agreed on the deal, and you shipped, he was obligated to complete the deal as agreed at the time you shipped.

If he wanted to back out of the deal, then he is obligated to make you whole. And that means he is obligated to remit you the postage AT A MINIMUM. Personally, I think you should hit him with restocking fee of at least 10%, preferably 20% for the hassle.

If he coughs up and compensates you for the trouble, he gets a Neutral.

Otherwise, slam him with a Negative and write him up with a Bad Trader Report. It is a FACT that he LIED to you. He is a scammer and trying to pull a fast one. Don't let him get away with it!

Bottom line: he broke the deal, and he should be hammered for it.

Actually, yes.

It's clear from the first note that the guy is a scammer with a new account.

That's how they work.

The sooner that a Negative and BTR are posted, the sooner the rest of BTown knows. It puts up a warning flag to everyone who has a trade in the works so that they know something is up.
