Looking for gaming stores in Orlando, FL

Post by Warlock2x »

What's up BTown....I'm mainly a 40k,wfb, Warmachine/Hordes, gamer and would like to know where I can find any gaming stores for these types of games. I know theres a GW store not far from where I will be staying but I'd really like ti find a Privateer press store or somewhere that heavily deals in PP minatures. I'm going to be vacationing there in a few weeks and would like some insight as to where i can go to shop as the one gaming store here where I live is nice and all, the shop owner doesn't stock much new stuff.

Thanks in advance
-Jerry

P.S. (Directed at the mods for this forum) Sorry if posting I'm in the wrong forum I really just didnt know where to post, and the "search" wasn't much help.

Thanks again

-Jerry

anyone have any suggestions? I'd like to find out ahead of time so I can know where to go. I'll be staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and anywhere close to there would be awesome. I know there s a GW store about 20-25 minutes from my hotel, but I'd like to find a gaming store for multiple games. Mainly GW and PP, maybe some Malifaux too.

I'm over in Oviedo FL, there's a game store here called Amorous Armadillo. And in Orlando there's a game store called Sci Fi City. Sci fi is better for the instore stock, but Armorous Armadillo is better for getting a game in.

Ah, okay. Sci Fi is your best bet, though Armadillo does have a decent selection.

I stopped by Sci Fi City one time when I happened to be in the Orlando area and was pretty impressed with their stock. That was several years ago, but I still remember it, so that must say something!
If I forget to post a reference for you, please let me know!

they also have an online store.
there used to be 2 competing stores up there. 1 went out of business and was taken over by the other.
1 was called intergalactic trading company and the other 1 I think was enterprise 1701. that was about 20 years ago.

I believe they are now called sci fi city.

intergalactic used to be 1 of the biggest catalog, mail order stores before the internet emerged.
Heh, I was called a Grognard. ;-)

I bounce around 3 stores in the Orlando area. The 2 already mentioned and then there's one more called Phoenix Games.
Armadillo is definitely the gaming crowd. Sci-Fi is well stocked on a good selection from comics to Warhammer 40k. They are always light on the Warmahordes selection unfortunately . Phoenix is well stocked on everything but doesn't do comics. If you don't mind missing the "store" experience and can wade through card players then I would suggest a last place. CoolStuffGames is a distributor and will have the best prices/stock. They have/are a warehouse so they're always well stocked and will be the cheapest prices anywhere.

Hope this helps!

Thanks guys, you're all making me excited to see nice gaming stores. There is one gaming store here in Corpus Christi, TX and its a great place to get games in, but their selection is a joke. Only because the owner knows that the community here is small, so he stocks light.

I remember going to 1701 when it was around and that is one that morphed into Sci Fi City to get a better storefront and more space.
