Board time is incorrect.

Post by eman1_2 »

I had the time setting set as Eastern, GMT-5. However, the board is showing GMT time still for me. i.e. - it is 0930 here, board is showing 1430. Any way to fix that from my end? Hate doing mental math to figure out if there is a new post in a sub-forum.

I semi-fixed it by setting my boards to Hawaiian time, but that doesn't seem to be the best fix, IMO.

- A simple 'not interested' to a trade offer is just being polite. It helps people setting up multiple trades know where they stand.
- Google something for someone, they get an answer. Teach someone how to Google their own answer, they own the Internet.

Go into your User Control Panel (next to your "X new messages" link).
Click on "Board Preferences" tab.
Choose the correct time.
Click "Submit."

Should fix you right up.

Nope - that is where I have to choose Hawaiian time. If I chose Eastern Standard (GMT-5), the time is 5 hours off for me.

Same here. I have to select [UTC - 12] Baker Island time to get the correct time for [UTC - 7] Mountain Standard Time.

I suspect that the time zone for the new server is not selected correctly. Forum software packages like this one rely on the location of the server to base their times from. I know that's how it works with my Invision Power Board setup.
