Brother Ranz - deadbeat

I began a dialogue with Brother Ranz on December 9th in response to his posting:

It's a much older post but I had been digging around in some older posts in search of GW LOTR models.

In a nutshell, we made a deal, he didn't ship but claimed to have shipped. He then said that he shipped to the wrong address but was able to get the stuff back. Then he claimed that he would re-ship the package to me. Then he stopped communicating. I feel I was extremely patient with him until he came up with a second excuse at which point I became skeptical. I gave him his final notice of 'this deal is canceled' today.

I didn't mention that the Mordor Orcs and Uruk Hai are assembled and primed black. LMK if that is a dealbreaker. I also have a couple metal orcs andrandom figs I will throw in.

Hey there!

I did not realize they had not been sent. My wife was to mail them and left them at the office. Another BTowner sent me a "Where the heck is my stuff" email and alerted me. I'll get it tomorrow and may or may not make it to the po tomorrow. Either way, I'll get it out Friday. Sorry for the mix up.

Update today: I finally got a message from Brother Ranz regarding his ridiculously bad communication and horrible excuses.

In one of the previous messages I sent to him I had offered to trade him some PDF files of Dark Heresy books on a memory stick in exchange for some of the GW LotR figures he was selling me in hopes of dropping the price further.

This offer violates the rules here, quite possibly illegal and rubbed me the wrong way, so I went back and forth on sending it to you even though I turned you down on the illegal, virtual copies. I inquired about it in another pm because I was thinking about ratting you out, but who can be bothered? It's fantasy games and toy soldiers after all. So after not communicating for months and after coming up with excuse after excuse, he decides to inform me that he was trying to figure out whether or not he should attempt to screw me over... and THAT was why he neither communicated nor sent the package? The offer was so pressing and was weighing on his conscious SO MUCH that he FORGOT about me. Our deal didn't work out because he's a terrible communicator and a liar.

You can't, but the pdfs were not part of the original trade, and they seem like a red herring thrown in at the end.

whether or not the PDFs were part of the trade is irrelevant. did i offer them? yes.

the point is that even after this ridiculousness has concluded, this guy still comes to me making some sort of excuse and/or threat. it just demonstrates to what lengths he will go to avoid communication and taking responsibility.

Trading pdf's is against the rules. They should not have been offered. Period.
That said, they are not a part of the trade being reported as a backout and, as such, do not weigh in the validity of the BO. In fact, the report does meet our cirteria.

That said, please do not offer pdf's, regardless of whether you obtained them legally or not for trade on BTown. It is against the rules.
