Does anyone know if a wolf's head could replace the lion muzzle on the lion body? And if so, how would it look?

IMO, it'd look like a shaved wolf.

The one from the old plastic wolf. You know the Goblin Wolf Riders' wolf. Or maybe a Dire wolf head.

GS will take care of the shaved appearance.

It's just that the HE lion looks just the right size to make a Thunderwolf out of.

Goblin Wolf riders are kind of small, not near SM size. I think you'd need a much larger mount for it to look right.

I'm talking about using the HE lions with the head from a wolf.

That Dire Wolf head looks far too small.

Privateer Press has some Wolfen (or whatever) models whose heads might work.

Yes, and the RIDERS are way smaller than a SM.

Just buy the extra SCs on the Wolf like everybody else...

Wulfen heads are much smaller than the GW wolf heads so they won't work.For what you would pay for the lions plus getting wolf heads you could probably buy the SW wolf.There was a discussion on TMP about it, and some good alternative cyber wolves, in the Sci fi boards about a week ago.

Of course you could always paint your Marines in Voltron colors and use the lions as is.

I will check when i get home, as i have both models on my hobby table. I actually think it will be a close fit. The wolf heads are quite large. However have fun getting all those rare lions every HE player wants to convert.

The Warstore has the HE Lions for 6.99 each.

Oops forgot to get back to you... I think they will fit. The wolf head looks a little small but I think it would be passable.

So it seems it will be down to GS filling and sculpting.

Yes... There will definitely be a bit of GS in this conversion. I think the Dire Wolf head will fit better because it is a little larger than the regular wolf rider head. I will fit but not seamlessly.
