Okay folks,

Here is an odd request. I am in an educational masters program and one of my classes is multimedia design. I have to teach an instructional lesson using a website. The course mainly revolves around website design (As I have already completed the instructional design course), which is new to me. I thought a great way to learn and do something I love would be to create a website dedicated to making high quality table top terrain. I would also have a blog where users could discuss how they made certain terrain, from using water effects, to flocking, to painting styles etc. Not only would this make a great project, but it is something I would keep and develope over the years. I am asking bartertown for input on the following which is my needs analysis. If you have website design experience, I will be using Microsoft Expressions and Adobe Elements, and would really enjoy working with others on this.

Describe what the problem or need is - be sure to include a discrepancy between what your target audience can currently do and what they should be able to do (i.e., a need).

Conduct a basic analysis/assessment of your target audience - Here you need to gather information from and about one or two representatives of your audience and its needs.
Include a brief description of your target audience's current knowledge, attitudes, skills, and habits related to the need.
Include a brief description of the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and habits (KASH) that your targeted audience must have to accomplish what they do.

Please feel free to comment on the above questions as I will be using the answers for my needs analysis.

Thanks,
Brian

I am not sure what exactly you are requesting...

The wording is a little iffy in your request.

I would be interested in a Terrain How to Website. Myself, I am a somewhat skilled terrain maker. All of my techniques have been derived from a hodgepodge of Model railroad mags, the few that GW puts in WD, and simple trial and error.

Terrain is a something that we all need and can be extremely expensive if purchased retail. It is a lot cheaper and you will usually get better results if you make your own.

If you are looking for the skill level of those who would be interested in the website. I would be very interested. I would give me a skill level of 7 out of 10 in terrain building.
