I also have some "no reply" help needed

Hey guys,
I have done a trade with a gentleman, not here but over at Rogue Market.com.
However he is also a member here and references his Bartertown rating of 120! (yes one hundred and twenty). He also provided his email and his phone number (very gentlemanly of him). So before I sent the money, I called him and talked to him on the phone.
He was a very pleasant person, I like him quite a bit. So that, coupled with the fact that he was an older gamer (like myself), and used to be one of the "watchmen" here on bartertown, I felt very comfortable with him.
So I sent him the money for his minatures on the 21st of June, he said he would ship that monday on the 22nd.
its now been several weeks and no package. I sent him two emails to his yahoo account email, with no response. I called him on his cell phone, which he did not answer, and left him a message, with no response. I then sent him a PM on Rogue market.com, on the 5th, and saw that he logged in again on 7th. So I know that he is active on the internet, and that he had read at LEAST my PM.
So my frustration is that he has my $175, and is NOT returning my calls. But I feel like he is a good guy, at least with a stellar previous trading record.
Any suggestions?

1st, whatever you do, do not post anything in the Bad Trader Forum since the trade was not conducted here.
There are several reliable posters with links in their sigs telling you exactly what to do. Most likely a few will show up here.
I know MM has been very helpful with issues other users have had. It might be worth it to send him all of the pertinent info via PM.
I do not use RM, but was under the impression they had something similar to BTR's there. Is that not the case?
Of the people that come to mind, I'm hoping it's #2 on my list and not #1 as #2 atleast followed through eventually. Check out the Hall of Shame.
Did he explain why he was no longer a Watchman? Curious indeed.

It looks like you've done just about everything you can.
Obviously, you know that -aside from asking advice over here- your options on BTown are limited.
I don't know how RM's PM system works, but you can try sending him a PM here. That way, if he reads it, you'll know for certain (it'll move from your out box to your sent box).
Other than that, I only have 2 suggestions...
1) Keep doing what you're doing. Call him REGULARLY (but not at "inconsiderate" hours)
2) If you hit the point where you think it need to be escalated, file a report on the site where it originated and get the Admin on that site involved.
Good luck with it!
Eric

We're pretty "cut and dried" about what we do over here. If it generated at another site, it needs to go there. We (staff) try not to get involved in trade issues from (any) other sites.
It's not taht we don't WANT to help... it's more of a jurisdiction thing... If we needed to, we could get trade records from here, but not from there.

For the record.... NO NAMING NAMES, anyone.
That being said, NO former staff have ever been "removed," to the best of my knowledge. If they did, it was before MY time as staff.
Any former Watchmen left based on their own decision to do so.

I have been very careful not to mention any names, as I am hoping this will work out for the best. Its a 30 day after payment before you can initate a payapl reversal, I belive.
I just talked with another trader on Rogue Market, who was doing another trade with him at the same time and found out that my tradee sent this other person an email on Sunday, so they are around and emailing.
I have opened a thread over there on this same topic, hopefully an admin will help.
They are not anyone listed in the Hall of Shame, nor do they have any bad trader refereces here. I am not going to list it as a bad trade, because I dont know its bad yet. Frustrating, yes, bad no.
Im making sure though that my concerns are frustrations are valid.
Also, if it is a bad trade, and that trader uses this site as a reference, should it not be also remarked here? Just curious.

Yes. You have been... and I appreciate that.
We have a very active and... eager... group of regulars here. If any of them see it posted on RM, or think they've figured it out on their own, they may be prone to name him.
I was, simply, heading off that possibility.
Also, on PayPal, you have 45 days from the transaction date to file a claim.

That's a relatively good sign. It means he hasn't "cut and run."
You might want to try to get the other guy to mention it to him in a PM.

Good. That's the best first step. Hopefully, your concerns were voiced as well over there as over here. You were VERY non-accusatory. That's a good way to start.

That's a good point of view. A patient demeanor is almost always the best way to get things resolved. It's definitely the best way to start.

Sounds like they are.

Unfortunately, the rules are pretty straight-forward on this. Bartertown references only.
Now, should it be someone who's epidemic on another site (or sites), Admin might -on a case by case basis- make an exception... but never for just one trade.

First of all just a very small introduction. My name is jason lewis and I handle trade complaints for Rogue-Market. I apologize to Bartertown administration for our trade issues spilling over onto here. Please know that I take my position over on RM seriously and have helped to resolve quite a few issues for members. If we have any especially bad seeds then I would be happy to extend the warning to this website. I have no hard feelings or ill will towards any sites.
My reason for posting here is that I agree with MM that this should be kept on RM. Githros and I will do everything we can to help you resolve this issue.

At the request of the Rogue Market admins, I will continue this on their site. I only brought the item up her for advice, because I have been a bartertown member since 1996 (even though my join date says 2003, i have references back to 96).
I requested advice without mentioning names (as appropriate) because of my years of experience here. I have ignored the several PM requests to mention the person's name.
Thanks to the bartetown crew! And thanks to Inquisitor Lewis for his help over there.

When possible, do trades on Btown instead of Rogue Market?
Unfortunately, this being offsite, there's not much we can do.
That said, if you paid on 6/21 and no replies or anything to multiple contact efforts and methods, I'd start dispute resolution with your bank, credit card company, paypal, whomever. Two weeks without basic acknowledgment contact or shipping is not acceptable trade practice.

Hey, Jason... NO apologies necessary. There's only ONE staff member on RM that we (the staff) have problems with. You're welcome to hang out, if you wish.
Now, that being said, there are NO problems with this "spilling over" to BT. The OP did a FINE job of posting the necessary info to get help, while refraining from dragging the guy's name through the muck. More people looking for advice should handle it so well.
I reiterate: Apology NOT accepted, because it's not necessary.

Irishman, you did fine. I commend you for doing more than just posting a request for help, then expecting other people to do everything for you. You pro-actively came to somewhere that you knew the trader in question frequented and asked about getting help.
It's all good.
...and thanks for denying the PM requests (though, if staff asks, it's okay to give the info to them. They won't spill it

).
