So what is that product I see on allot of minis. I took a link from the site Minivault. I see it painted brown most of the time though. I was originally thinking a Pumice paste type thing not sure now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can't quite tell, but from the picture it looks like normal basing sand. Just use slightly watered-down PVA glue and dunk the base in a thing of basing sand. Shake/tap off the excess, wipe the sand off that spills over onto the sides and let it dry. Then I usually ink it and drybrush two or three times with lightening tones. For an earthy look like that, I tend to use brown ink, let that dry, then a heavy drybrush of graveyard earth followed by a lighter drybrush of bleached bone.
Anyway, hope that helps.

It kind of looks like extra fine ballast from RailRoad modling kits.
I do a layer of watered down glue, add ballast, then when dry do another layer of slightly thicker glue and mine come out similar. I did my Salamanders as a wasteland base and used slightly coarser sand/ballast to get a similar effect

I agree with Reegsk. That's most likely just sand applied by white glue, then painted in the desired color.
