Two questions that I need some help on.

Hello Fellow Bartertowners,

I have a couple of questions.

First off, I remember seeing a link for a photo box set. Does anybody have that link? I NEED a photo box for the miniature painting service. My photos just aren't working. I thought about building a box myself, but I am a busy man. Unfortunately. I could search the net forever, but I am hoping that somebody else here has done their research and unearthed a reputable seller for photography supplies.

I have found that I am just NOT a photographer. So, any help with a photo box with a tripod would be awesome.

Secondly, I am thinking about changing over my website. Is there anybody on the site that does website building? If so, I would need to know what it would take (as far as money) to get a website up and running. I am COMPLETELY in the dark as far as purchasing a website and building it. Consider me website ignorant in this matter with any replies. Use small words. ;)

I am a little loathe to leave my website. It's cheap and I actually can figure out how to add to the blog and photos. But, I don't think it shows off the work that I am doing of late.

Anything that will help me make some decisions in these matters would be great.

As always, thanks for any answers, help, and advice.

I use Godaddy for my webpage. You can get unlimited space and transfer for 14.99 a month. It is cheaper if you pay for it 1, 2 or 3 years. I have never had a problem with them.

Karl,

From my limited experience with the photo box thing, I bought one of ebay for about $25. It was a 12X12X12 box with diffusion panels, lights, and a mini tripod. Seems to work great.

A friend of mine said I spent too much money and he built one himself. For the price, getting the lamps, tripod, and box...I thought it was a good deal. I looked recently, and there are some bigger set-ups going for about $40.

Sorry, can't help with the website stuff, I am as bad off as you when it comes to things like that. Might want to talk to some of your competition for pointers as well.

Hey Karl,

I can put you in contact with a friend of mine that hosts/builds websites if you want and he can get you a quote. I actually went through him when I built my WOW website and forums a year ago.

Also, I built my own lightbox 6 months ago and it cost me around 6-8 bucks and an old shipping box I found at work. It took all of 2 hours, scissors, clear boxing tape, white fabric from Michael's, elmer's glue and a big square of White cardboard. If you don't find out that works for you on ebay or the web (or it is really costly) let me know and I will see if I can find another box and see if we can't put you one together and send it out :)

If you want I will take a picture of the one I built so you can see what it looks like.

Thanks for the replies so far guys!

I have taken care of the photo box problem. I am hoping that it will help my figures pop a little more. My pictures just don't do them justice.

I am trying to figure out the website thing. And I have some help from a couple of guys who are more in the know.

We shall see...

Karl
