Have a 40k ?

Ok I've recently been reading over the 1990 warhammer 40k rogue trader, I found various shells.
Example
1. Photon
2. Psyk-out
3. Rad
4. Stasis
5.Tanglefoot
6. Virus
7. Vortex
Now here is the question: Can any of these shells be used in a 40k game?
Didn't know if any of them were badly outdated or not I am just learning and trying understand the game.
Thanks for your time...

Those shells, if you're talking about using them in guns, don't exist anymore. The vortex grenade has come back in Apocolypse style games though. It is not used in a "normal" or tournament style game though.

Well I guess I should have known being a 1990 book. Thanks for your time and answer now I'll have to get a newer space marine codex. As I have heard a new one is coming out in the coming months I think.....

The new SM codex will be out in October... Which ticks me off.
I'm not anti-marine... Shoot... They're one of only 2 armies I own... But putting their codex out in October is just WRONG.
Typically, in the past, October has been Orktober for GW. It's the month that GW always focused on Orks and all thinks Orky.
Now, the freaking Space Marines are taking that over, too.
Eric
Edit: Sorry.... Also, if you don't have it, you should get and use the newest FIFTH edition rulebook. The one you're reading won't help you a BIT with learning the game as it is, now.

Thanks MM I'll keep that in mind I just happen to pick up that copy at a book sale at the library it was only a buck so what the hey, plus I do get a look at some of the neat older models and dream that I had them....Ya Gw has a funny of throwing a rod into the cogs of the gaming machine but as far as the new book may get it but I think I will try and make my own chapter and see how it goes. I think I will call it the Ministry of the Emperor...

Didn't the 40K orks already get their new book? (like in Feb or something... I don't play 40K)
The WHFB orks got their 7th ed. codex already as well.

I'm sorry.
Does that say that you bought a copy of the original Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader rulebook for A DOLLAR?
That is one HELL of a deal.
You should look that thing up on Feebay. They can go for a few dollars in good condition.

Yeah. They have their codex... but that never stopped GW in the past.
Typically, they focus all their efforts... Okay... maybe not ALL... LOL
Orks have typically been their main focal point in Orktober every year.

To keep with tradition they should have redone SM when they did the Orks then.
(mind you, I am new to the WH scene at all, I started playing last year.)

I'll give you 2 dollars for that rogue trader rulebook. Heck, I might even trade you one of my new 5th edition mini rulebooks for it......
Orktober. Sheesh.
Eric, don't you know that Warhammer 40K is ONLY about the Smurfs. And a few other insignificant Space Marine Chapters. Yeah, there are other races. But, who cares. Really.
