Hey Bartertown -

Can you help me ID this manufacturer of this terrain peice. It's made of very light-weight foam, not sure if it comes pre-painted or not. Thanks!

The whole thing's foam??? including the chimera part? If so, GW legal would have a fit. If it's an actual plastic chimera, i'd assume it's a custom job. The mesh looking part on the ground reminds me of a neat trick i saw on this website: http://www.garbo.org/40k/
But skimming through the pictures, i didn't see this terrain piece.
Sorry, but beyond that i have no idea.

As the above poster mentioned, since its actually got the Chimera "built" into it, its gotta be a custom piece. GW legal is one of the most crack teams I've ever seen, even going so far as to not allow PICTURES of their products for sale allowed on websites other than their own.

Looks like a chopped piece of WW2-era sandbag bunker terrain chopped to fit the Chimera in, then used the chopped sandbag & chopped pieces around the Chimera to make it fit the style of the terrain.

Yeah, if someone casted that piece, GW would be all over, the mold, the sculpter, the sculpter's family, and anyone the sculpter ever knew...

Someone did cast and mass produce that piece.

GW themselves, thats a GW terrain piece they made a few years ago.

Got to Agree with Nuwisha

I ccan post a pic of mine tonight, but that is definitely a GW Scenery Piece.

There is a very cool Catachan mound that they also produced that was very similar.

The only thing about this piece which may be throwing people off is that it is painted. GW made them unpainted, but you could easily throw some paint on it to make it nicer. I put some flock on mine.

To be clear they didnt ban "pictures" they restricted retailers that stock their product from selling the stuff via an online shopping cart. You can sell GW stuff all day long if you are getting it from an indirect source and include pics.

They did ban pictures... sort of...
You can't use stock GW pictures (previously, they allowed it). If you're using images, they are supposed to be images you took yourself. That's why most retailers don't bother with the pics... More trouble than it's worth for something that you can't even sell, except by phone, fax or email. Most gamers already know what they want without looking it up, anyway. The rest used to be able to look it up on the GW site (they still can... it just takes longer now... a LOT longer)

Thanks for the help guys - any idea on the worth / retail when it was available? I'm going to give it a touchup as it seems that someone went heavy on the inks.

If I remember right it was somewhere in the ballpark of 30 bucks
