Howdy,
I have been wondering for some time why there is the dollar amount field in the Trade Ref form - it doesn't appear to display when looking at someone's refs. Can anyone give me some insight?

Also, is it ok to trade adult oriented items here?

PLEASE READ TEH RULES

PLEASE READ THE RULES ITS AS CLEAR AS DESERT DAYLIGHT

ILL SPECIFY IT FOR YOU

Rule #9: Use discretion when trading for adult-related material.
ie DVDs, VHS, or whatever. There are a lot of minors who trade on this website and we don't need some angry parent threatening to shut us down because their kid picked up a p0rn0 DVD.

Uh wow.. A simple "No" would have been a better answer.

Despite the rules allowing it, it seems to me that practically the answer is No. I really don't see a practical way to keep items out of the hands of minors.

Yes, the rule says "USE DISCRETION" (i.e. ask for an ID scan, use UPS adult signature delivery, etc.), it doesn't say you can't trade that.

DUDE

DONT GET ME WRONG DONT MEAN TO COME OUT STRONG ,COZ HALF OF THE GUYS I TRADE HERE ARE MINORS AND BELIEVE ME I HAVE EXPERIENCE DEALING WITH PARANOID PARENTS EVEN THOUGH THEY GOT MY INFO AND GOOD STANDING AND ALL. I CAN STILL SENSE THEY SUSPECT ME AS A ONLINE SMACKER. COZ EVEN THOUGH YOU DEAL WITH DISCRETION (THRU PM'S) THIS PARENTS WILL HUNT DOWN THE SUPPLIER.

I APOLOGIZE FOR THE STRONG WORDS ,BUT BETTER TO GET HURT NOW THAN DEAL WITH THE GREATER PROBLEM.

I APPRECIATE YOU BEING A SPORT.

WELL TO HELP YOU OUT TOO TRY DISPOSING THE STUFF AT

To provide a formal answer...

You are allowed to but we highly encourage discretion when trading with minors.

OK, all that is great - what about the original question concerning the dollar amounts, though??

It's got me wondering as well... :?:

I've wondered as well on the first question. I've suspected it provides the powers that be some sort of thumbnail sketch of how much is being traded on this board and can be used to determine advertising rates or some such.

Just my Capitalistic thoughts on the matter,

David

I'm guessing its for marketing to potential people wanting to post adds. i've seen post on the site of X amount of money through the site every year... so thats my guess.
