No feedback?

I completed a trade a few weeks ago with a B-towner who has a signifigant chunk of positive trade refs (about 10-12x greater than mine). I thought the trade went well, but after things were completed and I left positive feedback for them, they never left feedback for me. I've emailed then several times, with no response. This is someone who durring the trade was extremly responsive durring the negotiation/finalization of the trade (we exchagned 30+ emails), so I wouldn't blame it on 'infrequent email checking'.

So, what should I do? Should I just leave it and think 'that's life!', PM a moderator to get them to remove my feedback, or change my feedback to a neutral and add a comment about the apparent refusal to leave feedback? I'd rather not just let it go really, it's feedback I feel that I deserve, and I think vets here discounting the importance of feedback for us newer members is extremly rude. It dictates people's impression of our character, and as well may very easily decide if someone will even bother trading with us.

Thoughts?

All I can say is - move on. It's not worth the effort of getting upset over.

Seriously, it's becoming fairly pervasive for some traders to not leave any refs lately. It's not just you, since Jan. I've had roughly 5-6 trades that went perfectly well and the other trader simply never left feedback (some, even after receiving a PM from me kindly reminding them to leave an appropriate ref).

It's also not just new or low-ref'd traders with this problem. I've had traders with 100+ refs simply never leave feedback.

At this point, you can't change the ref you left, so just take the high ground and forget about it. If it really ticks you off, throw 'em on your DNT list.

I suggest sending a pleasant PM to them reminding them of the trade and politely asking them to give you the appropriate feedback you deserve.
Then it's time to go on about your Bartertown life.

I've had a few cases of not receiving FB after completing a trade. Sadly, in my cases, it was always a much more reputable trader than myself. The PM did the trick in 4/5 instances... Sometimes people just forget.

Well, galley... barring the "forgetting about it," it seem you've already tried the above suggestions.

Truth be told, I have to agree with Ancient Society & Flagg about dropping it.

Don't get me wrong... I see your rating (currently a 16). I still rmember back when mine was there. I KNOW how important feedback is until you hit about 50. Although it may seem like people who don't really NEED to be worried about the feedback just brushing it off, when we say not to worry about it, the FACT of the matter is that it is experienced traders advising you that it is not worth stressing yourself over and that the ratings will come. It's about retaining your mental health.

I know I've "snubbed" ratings on purpose before. It came down to the fact that I wasn't happy enough with the trade to give the guy credit (a neutral still gives a 1 number bump to your rating) and I wasn't UNHAPPY enough to annihilate him (a negative gives a -10). I didn't bother to email him about it because.... Well, I tried that before. It comes across as snotty and pretentious, no matter HOW you word the email.

Double check what you did. If you are certain that there was nothing you did that might have caused you to fall into the above category, then presume that your trade partner had a sudden case of the "forgetsies," and don't worry about it (it really isn't worth it in the long run) or put him on your "Do Not Trade" list.

Hope this sheds a bit more light for you.

It also could be that the ITl is not working properly at the moment. Some of the references being left are not showing up etc... Adam is looking into it.

Also, why would you PM one of the Mods to remove the feedback?
