advice on feedback

when i 1st rejoined b-town, my rating was based on my new email, so it was 0.
i started a trade, my oop chaos warriors for skaven. i wanted to trade all of the minis at once. i made contact with another trader. his rating was higher than mine, but still realtively low.

i described my minis, in complete detail. he was trading nib, or opened boxes, but complete, so his description was shorter.

there was even a disagreement about worth of plastic minis vs metal, new vs oop, cavalry vs foot.
in my description, i said i had plastic horses with plastic riders.
he sent me a link showing what he wanted. i didn't see a difference, so i said yes.

we both shipped. i received his, and left he a + ref.
he received mine and was mad. he then accuses me of lying and trying to steal from him. he says the link in the pic clearly showed metal horses. i posted my quote, showing worth, when i said plastic horses.

we both returned each others minis. mine we returned, but a couple were broken. the plastic ones i was able to glue, but i had a metal warrior who's weapon broke. the blade on the morningstar was thin, and there was no way to repair it.

when we agreed to ship, we agreed to send priority mail, insured. he never insured either package.

now i'm out 1 metal oop chaos warrior. i left him a + ref, with nothing in return. i paid for insurance, that he never reciprocated.

this happened several months ago, but i still have all the pm's. it still bothers me, especially when i see my broken mini.

is there anything i can do?
his last pm was complaining that he had to pay postage and got nothing.
my last pm was that i gave him a good ref, and got back a broken mini.

Please don't take this wrong, but my first thought upon reading that was "Awww, what a sad little tale" and I laughed out lout!! I totally know what you're saying and it's obvious from the length and detail of the post that it bothers you, but I'd say it's best just to forget about it and move on. What does the mini that got broken look like?? If I have one I'll send it to you in return for all of the great info about the Post Office you've provided for all of us (that physics lesson post alone was worht it to me!!!) ;)

well, it taught me, both here and on ebay, don't leave feedback until the deal is thru.

and i hate liars, and usually it's the only thing that will provoke me to violence is being called one. that and threat of bodily harm of course.

i suppose i should just delete all of them. i'll read thru them and make sure there aren't any threats about feedback.

I know what you mean, I have a really hard time letting go too. Out of all of the deals I've done on the 'net the most memorable are the ones I got burned on. Really it's just sad. I have more minis than I know what to do with and have met some really great people and gotten some awesome deals so it's just stupid to keep thinking about the bad ones like I do but I really would like to punch them both in the face for being theives. It makes me feel petty but I know they deserve it and I always ear they are ripping others off as well. At any rate you don't really need the feedback your rating is great so just chalk it up as life happens and keep on trading.

yes i have a deal that sticks in my craw as well

traded with a guy and specifically was told that the item he had was nib.. now when it arrives it has no box and the models have been all put together

now i should have just sent it back but ... whatever... i just didnt leave the guy feedback

i received the box in the mail 4 weeks later after i had to give the minis away as they were unsellable

next time tho forget it....however i hope i dont have a next time

if it was me id just as soon dump the emails unless you want to petition to have your feedback removed from the guys account due to a failed trade im not sure if thats grounds to have it removed but you can ask

i could always leave a neutral feedback.. i'm not sure if i could leave negative, even though i got back the minis broken.

and he failed to follow the agreed shipping procedure.

damn this is getting as bad as ebay.
i just got a nib box of tk horsemen. the box was unwrapped. the sprues were broken. the horse sprues were trimed down. the bases were off sprue. the box was crushed. it was put in a padded envelope. i paid $8 shipping and it was sent 1st class without insurance. she paid under $2 for postage and about the same on the padded envelope.
so i was charge 2x-4x shipping.

i've sent her a pm ther.. gonna give her a week before i leave bad feedback.

Ahhhh, now you've touched upon my personal crusade...jerk-offs who charge extra shipping just to line their pockets. THIEVES!!!! I'm sure you already know this but in case anyone needs any ammo against these leeches:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/lis ... arges.html

"Sellers may charge reasonable shipping and handling fees to cover the costs for mailing, packaging, and handling the items they are selling. While eBay will not prescribe exactly what a seller may or may not charge, eBay will rely on member reports and its own discretion to determine whether or not a seller’s shipping, handling, packaging, and/or insurance charges are excessive. Shipping and handling fees may not be listed as a percentage of the final sale price.

Sellers who want to be sure they are in compliance with this policy may charge actual shipping costs plus actual packaging materials cost (or less).

In addition to the final listing price, sellers are permitted to charge:

Actual Shipping cost: This is the actual cost (i.e. postage) for shipping the item.

Handling Fee: Actual packaging materials costs may be charged. A handling fee in addition to actual shipping cost may be charged if it is not excessive.

Examples of violating listings:

*Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (2001, DVD)

BIN: US $1

Shipping: US $11 First Class USPS

Explanation: The actual cost to ship this DVD would be less than $3 using First Class Mail stated in the listing. This seller is charging all costs for this item in the shipping price thus hiding the “trueâ€
