On negotiation and communication.

I'm not 100% certain about this, but I feel it's fair to ask:

If a trade/sale is in final negotiation (cost agreed, etc.), is there a reasonable expectation that a seller will not arrange trades/make sales for the same item at the same time or within a reasonable (say, 24 hour) period? If there is, is there any recourse to be taken?

I will admit, this is a post borne out of frustration from losing a purchase because I asked for additional information (Pictures of models that were not NIB) before finalizing payment, and provided my email address a little over two hours after being asked for it.

Bartertown considers a trade final once all facets of the trade have been agreed upon.
If you BOTH agreed to a price, pending pictures, you might have recourse, of a sort. It depends on the circumstances.

Your recourse, if it's considered a completed trade, is that you can leave them a negative reference and/or post a "Back Out" report on them in the applicable forum.

You're better off asking a staffer for advice before doing that until you get a hang for things, though.

I generally hold items for a week or so once we agree to payment and I post my paypal address (finalize deal). If the person does not respond or pay, then I open it back up again.
