Let's say you see something you like and you don't get paid for two weeks.

Would a seller be willing to take a down payment then payment of the balance and then ship once paid in full?

Or is that just viewed as bad form?

Okay thanks. I've only tried offering that once and it was turned down and I didn't know if I had offended the person or broken some sort of bt rule. I was just surprised because I had offered to buy their whole lot at asking price.

I don't know about others, but I would accept that.

Agreed, if it was a non-refundable deposit with a specified time limit on the payment due date. If I'm selling something, I don't want to hold it forever because they decided to give me $50 to hold it and later decided to ask me to hold it for 3 months.
