Help: USPS to Canada Post Incorrect Address

So I've been tracking a package I'm expecting sent from California (sent as First-Class Package International Service). I was able to track it until a failed delivery attempt was made and then Canada Post removed all tracking info from their website. I can still track it via USPS's website, however.
I've tried contacting Canada Post trying to find out where this package is, but due it the way it was sent, I can't locate it Canada. USPS's website has updated the package's status to:
Incorrect Address - Addressee's address being verified
I just wanted to see if anyone knew if the receiver could verify the address or can ONLY the sender do so? Thanks for any help that can be provided!

Have you contacted your trading partner? I don't see why Canada Post would wipe it off their systems, never seen that happen before on a failed delivery. How do you know it was the wrong address?
I would contact your trading partner and get the address he sent you, then if it was wrong, he should call usps and get it corrected. It was after all his responsibility due to Btown rules to get his half of the trade shipped and arrived correctly.
Other than that your kind of out of luck if calling Canada Post didn't work. It will most likely go back to your trading partner and he will have to send it again.
I would contact Kturock, he is the guru post-master here on Btown, he might be able to help you more directly.

UGh. Dunno about Canda's post.
Also I don't know who needs to verify an address.
I'd try with the seller contacting CP [canada post] and trying to give them the correct address.
This couldn't happen at a worse time, since it's the busiest time of the year for all post offices.
Probably going to end returning to the sender and he'd have to pay postage again and maybe even rebox the items.
If he made the mistake, he should pay the new postage. If it was you, you should pay.
Either way, it's a costly mistake.

Thanks for the help guys! Small update - Payment of charges - Item being held, addressee being notified. Looks like its waiting at the post office to be paid for and they're supposed to let the addressee know. Oddly enough, they haven't told me a thing!

This is pretty imbalanced advice.
The holidays are a fine time for trades--you just have to approach them knowing that there may be delays.
