Hi,

Im form Canada and I shipped a package to Someone in the States. On the Canadapost site and the USPS site, they say it was delivered on 31 october at 12h44.

The guy im trading with though, Say he didnt received any package. He kept me posted each day and so far no package. I don't know how USPS works if there is nobody home But im a little conscerned. This was a good trade for both of us, I dont want to end with nothing on my part.

Thank You.

Have him check with family members. Chances are someone picked it up and didn't tell him.

Alternatively, you may have to file a lost mail claim with USPS.

Lost mail claims are obsolete. If it was insured or had a tracking number, they'll just pull up the file that's on the computer. The USPS intranet, shows more than the public internet. If it shows delivered and it wasn't insured, that's not much they can or will do. As far as USPS is concerned, according to they records, it was delivered.

Either, or both of you, should call the 1-800 USPS number and talk to the supervisor for the carrier of that building. Have the supervisor ask the carrier where he/she left it. ie on the porch, in the mail box, on a desk at the office [if business or apartment], et c. Sometiems the carrier will remember where they left the package.
That's also the first step to filing a theft of mail charge. If the carrier says, he/she delivered it and it was somewhere secure, like in the box; then file a theft charge. The addressee says they didn't receive it, so therefore it was stolen.
If the addressee is lying, that usually gets them to 'find it'.
