PMs in Outbox

I have a couple of PMs in my Outbox. I am trying to contact someone about a deal, but I don't want to jump to conclusions if the messages haven't actually been sent. I've never seen this before.

If they are still in the outbox it simply means they haven't been opened by the member you PM'd.

That is correct. The PM stays in your outbox until the recipient reads it. At that time, it goes to your sent items folder. You can see when the last time the member was online by clicking on their name and going to their profile page. On the lower right, in User Statistics, you can see join date and last visited date.
