PM's staying in outbox

I have a PM I tried sending 3 days ago that is staying in my outbox and not being sent. I've tried resending the message to the same user and the second one stays there as well. I have already successfully sent pm's back and forth with this user but the latest do not want to send.
Ideas?

It will stay in your outbox until the other party reads it. Then it moves to sent.

That information has been posted here more times than I can remember. A quick search would have yielded the same info.
