Having trouble leaving feedback

I am trying to leave positive feedback for a recent purchase and I keep getting an error when I select 'yes' to submit it.
I checked my outbox to make sure it wasn't still going through but no such luck. I've left feedback before many times and I've seen a timeout or two but nothing like this and not so consistently.
Is anyone else having trouble? Can anyone advise me what to do if this persists?

Frequently that happens when you mis-type the person's nic in the Reference Form.
Can you try again and if the error occurs, can you screenshot it?

I had a problem very similar to that. It would say "General Error" when I would try to send a PM, but it seems to be doing better this morning.

Everything seems to be working fine now. I have sent PM's and left a feedback for someone today and haven't had a problem. Thanks to however fixed the problem! Do you guys know what causes this problem? I will get an error like this once every other week or something. And then 4-5 hours later everything is back to normal. Thanks!

If you have problems like this, including a screen shot would make things a lot easier to diagnose. We can speculate all day on what it "sounds like" but, if we can actually see the screen, we can offer more help.

I had that problem ealier, 430-500pm DST, earlier today. General Error.
I refreshed the page several times and it worked.
I've learned along time ago, whenever I post here, to do a quick copy and paste to wordpad or notepad before I hit reply/post/submit.
Alot of times things just get lost.

Something's going on with lag times. It just popped up in the last day or so.
We're discussing it in the staff forum and waiting for the Mechanic to get a minute to look at it.

Sorry folks, had the in-laws in town this weekend for my wife's birthday, so I wasn't online to notice these threads or the issues that came up.
I'm looking at changing some behind the scenes stuff to better equip the server to handle our unique needs. If the changes get approved (Lin & Adam), then our stability issues should be resolved. Whenever (if?) these changes get implemented, we'll let you know.
The "General Error" page is a MySQL (database) error page. It usually means that the database has something wrong or that the number of connections to the database has been met, and your connection attempt timed out. Trying again in a few minutes is the best solution. If the page mentions "unable to connect via mysql socket" then you timed out, and refreshing should do the trick. If the error says that something is marked as broken or corrupted, that's something that requires my attention to fix and you should PM me or e-mail
admin@bartertown.com with a copy-paste of the error message, and a cookie.
The server's like an elevator - hitting the button faster or harder will
not make it move faster. If it's unresponsive, just come back in a few minutes. Spamming refresh actually
adds to the problem and leads to server crashes.
