Hello
Planning on selling a masive amount of BFG items, Imperial, CHaos and Ork fleets.
Most of these have customized bases where they have been cut or molded to fit the bottom of the metal ships. They are detachable and dont damage the items but are just not suitable if someone wants complete bases.

How much devaluation would this cause on the items? I see bases can be bough in bulk on ebay... so i was just curious.

So the bases themselves have been reshaped?
Are the bases glued to the model or are they detachable?

A picture of 1 of the models and its base might explain better than words.

Ifthe bases themselves have been remodled, and the ships themselves are normal & complete, I can't see it affecting it too much; especially if they are detachable.

Ya ill get a Picture up this evening,

The bases have been reshaped by using a small heat gun on the tip to soften the plastic so it molds around the small entrance hole. The bases are detachable with 0 damage to the model, they just look real wonky on their own and they are painted black. I was tired of having the little plastic dowel snap every time i moved the frigging ships..

That doesn't sound like anything that would devalue them to me. In fact, it almost sounds like it would increase the value, due to the extra work you put into them to make them no longer an annoyance.

I am with MM on this - I would be more likely to give you closer to retail on them due to the work you did that I don't have to.

My opinion is you pay or trade for the ships. Bases are an extra.

Ok, so hang on asec. If I have adeal with you for say 10 BFG ships. And I don't send you the bases, you not going to hae a problem with it?

The bases come with the ships, they're an integral part of the game.

Now, true, some companies offer other bases for ground troops, but all space games I've played or bought over the years, and some navel games came with bases. There is no way a Star Trek starship or a Firestorm Armarda cruiser, A BFG cruiser or even a Dreadfleet ship can be played/used without a base.

I agree with kt that bases matter (to me, at least). I maintain my initial position, however, that your bases do not devalue the items.

I don't really have an opinion as far as the value but if you find that it's tripping you up when trying to trade them let me know. I think I have a whole bag of old GW flight stands somewhere that I can send you.
