Question about delivery confirmation

Ok, if I ship a package priority, I get a tracking number. So what is the point in getting delivery confirmation on top of that? As far as I can tell, the tracking number is better because it tells me exactly where the package went and when it was delivered. DC just tells me when it was delivered.

Only if you purchase the postage online do you get deliver confirmation for free. If you buy it at the Post Office you pay an additional charge for it. They are the same thing. Delivery Confirmation does show where the package went. It's not not always updated in a timely fashion.

AHHHH. It looks like I've passed on my wisdom well.
The YoungWolf has learned.

[in other words, what he said.]

as a little bit of info, mostly about the updating.

the hand scanners that are used for d/c, are downloaded to a local computer when the user puts them into the cradle. [it also charges them.]

then about 2-3am the next morning, they local computer gets accessed remotely, and uploads the info.
Then it gets updated into the system.

There are many things that can affect the uploads and downloads.
