Possible BTR, Possibly Not - Need advice!

Hi guys,

I have a situation that may or may not qualify for a bad trader report, but I'm new and was hoping for some feedback on proper time tables and protocol.

I organized a trade here with a fellow (remaining nameless for now, so I don't give him a bad name unnecessarily) recently to swap decent sized army's, lot for lot. This other fella has no negative feedback and plenty of positive (bartertown and ebay,) and as I'm new here I assumed the burden of action and sent him my army on April 26. The stuff I sent arrived yesterday, May 03, and I've not heard anything from him confirming that he has received it or shipped his end of the deal. I wouldn't be worried because it's just a day, right? Except for two things:

- The day I shipped I realized I shorted him a base, and offered to paypal him some cash to make up for it, or ship the base separately. He did read that message but hasn't replied.
- I sent another message yesterday to confirm his receipt, which is still sitting in my outbox - only his last login was earlier today. Why would he log on and not check PMs or in the very least send me one - something like..:"Hey dude I got your $500 worth of mini's, I'll be sending out mine in the next day or so"

So, I realize life has the tendency to get in the way of things, and I could very well be a paranoid noobler right now, but I'm finding it difficult to imagine a scenario involving the above details and me not being scammed.

In short: I haven't heard anything from a trader since I shipped my part of the bargain. How long do I wait before I get worried?

Well, you ARE sounding a *little* paranoid. Under normal curcumstance, I'd advise you to hold out a couple days.
The fact tht multiple messages have been (presumably) read and unanswered *IS* troublesome.

What's the guy's current BTown rating?

I can find some cached posts on Google showing ratings of (140+). Weirdly, his rating otherwise shows blank to me. Perhaps he hasn't actually posted here in a while?

well.. ref numbers don't get posted in PMs.. (TMA is working on that, glacially).. you can use the "Check References" tab at the top of the page though, just input his username.

Alternately, if you can find one of his posts on the board, that has a hot-link to the reference numbers under their name.

If you're finding 140+, then the chances of him going rogue on you are, I'd say, extremely rare.
Like, "a woman giving birth to a spider monkey" rare.

Why don't you PM me his user ID?. I'll see if I can't dredge anything up for you.

Even knowing who it is & his ref score.... two weeks is too long. A week is more than reasonable.

He PMed me in response to mine, gave me the details, and said he was going to respond to you.
Glad to hear everything is working out well.
