On shipping first

Does shipping first been that the person receiving the package ships after your package arrives? I thought once UPS or USPS shipping confirmation was made the other party shipped their package. Thanks.

It really depends on the traders.
Most don't ship until after they've received and checked the item.
Others might ship after they've received a trackable number that has a verifable address. [to make sure the number is to a package that is coming to him.]

Don't take this personally. It's a general comment and not directed towards you.
Typically, the recipient waits until it arrives so he can ensure that (a) the package truly was sent (b) he got what he was supposed to and (c) it was in the condition promised.
All 3 of those are not unheard of with new traders.
Re (a):
If I send a package to kturock but give YOU the DC, telling you taht it's for your package, you won't know I'm lying until the DC# shows that the package was delivered somewhere else. If you've already sent your items to me, you're SOL.
Re (b):
You'd be surprised how often this gets screwed up. Even veteran traders make this error.
Re (c):
Again, you'd be surprised how often this part is overlooked. "Like new" does not mean the same to all people. This ensures taht someone with less trade experience doesn't misinterpret certain commonly understood terms that are used board-wide. It also protects the more veteran trader from unscrupulous individuals.
Hope that helps.
