Reference Submitter Name is only "()"

What does it mean under someone's references if almost all of there references submitter are from a person whose submitter name is only a blank pair of parenthesis? There is no user name I can click on to actually see who they got the good reference from.

Almost ALL of those "blank references" are most likely from the last iteration of the Bartertown Reference system. They are "legitimate" references, but from members who did not move over to this PHBB style forum. It is a remnant caused by TrademasterAdams Reference coding, not forum based.
I think all those references may have a year of 1996?
PM me with member names and I can look into it, in case I am wildly off base.

The dates on the transactions are 1996...didn't know you guys had been around so long! Thanks for the help!

The site was started in 1996 by TrademasterAdam as part of his college studies. It's ballooned from there. : )
