How long to wait before declaring a guy a deadbeat?

How long is it considered polite to wait before declaring a guy a deadbeat on a deal?

For instance (paraphrased version of the situation I'm in(days of the week may be a day off, if I post in the forum it'll have the headers): On a Tuesday, guy says he'll paypal me on saturday for some minis. Saturday comes and goes, and on Tuesday I send him a message saying I didn't get the payment, what's up...On that thurs, I sent another message saying if I hadn't heard back by that sunday, I was going to do the BTR...He messaged me late that sunday, saying he'd pay on tues (he gave an excuse that sounded kinda iffy, again, this is all in the pm's)...Tues just came and went, sent him a message today saying I haven't gotten the payment yet (according to the outbox, he read it pretty quickly after sending it)...

So how much longer should I wait?

I would start writing my backout now. It sounds like you have reminded him enough, haven't received a reasonable excuse not to pay you. Considering it takes about 30 seconds to do a PayPal transaction.

I'm with osloco. Start writing.
PM him, ask him if he's completing the deal or not. Give him specific requirements:
1) If I don't hear from you within 1 week, I will consider you as having backed out.
2) If you say you're still interested, you have 3 days to make payment, or I will consider you as having backed out.
etc.

Once you have a "guaranteed" backout by these stadards, feel free to post it.
