I've seen some of the mech's and human guys and liked the looks. Prepainted is fine with me but just looking is'nt really telling.
Does anyone play this? I hear it's simple, but is it complex enough to get into for the money(just expensive as if not more than 40k)?
I only collect 40k orks and a few other races box's I like for looks and assemble/convert/improve/paint them for something to do.
I dont own any 40k rulebooks but have read many treads on the various forums about the game to have a basic understanding of it. Would you(a 40k player play it if you had the time and players?
Considering I've never seen a tread or forum for it most anywhere I think I may be speaking to electrons.

Re: At-43 Any good/worthwhile
Good Day,
I have played AT-43 and am mostly a 40K player (though it has been months since I've played either).
The person I usually play against is also mostly a 40K player and we got into it for a couple of reasons:
A) He is starting to lose his stability with a paint brush and for a long time I was very much in a painting slump so the pre-painted aspect was a big plus.
B) It is fairly simple to play with just enough complexity to keep us entertained.
It can be as expensive as 40K but if you enjoy playing it then it is worth the money.
Depending on which faction you like the best a starter set is the way to go - you get 2 basic armies, terrain, dice, tape measure and mini rule book.
If you have any question you can PM me and I will do my best to answer them - I am not an expert but I am one of the few on these boards that has actually played the game and enjoyed it.
Thank you,

Pre-painted is a big deal, rules are simple, minis are heavily discounted at times. a starter costs about $80 discounts at around $40. Alot of players can't find much of a league so make sure you have a friend or two to play. Alot of models die fast so games can move fairly quickly. models are easy on the eyes. I bought a lot of it when fantasy flight was discounting it 50 to 60%.
Always looking for well sculpted Female miniatures.

The models are good and the paint jobs are a great place to start. With a bit more work, less than 20 minutes per figure, you can have a fantastic looking force for either AT43 or 40k.
Never played the actual game but several of the people at my club have entire IG regiments made from AT43 figures.

Re: At-43 Any good/worthwhile
After looking around some more I think I'll just go confrontation. I can use the lion and ram box armies for other games easier than future scifi stuff since I'm a fantasy person myself.
The prepainted boxs are kinda hard to find and rackhams store is closed for"improvement", doesnt that mean its dead. That and the dakka dakka forum doesnt have many current post to do with the game in it's own area. Its even harder to find something about confrontation worth reading.
I could still go for a box of red blok army, that has to be the best army(miniwise) they made in at-43.
One vehicles for the cogs army (giant cannon wheeled thingy) looked like something you could buy a k-mart for 3$.
Mini quality is a funny thing, especially when a range does alot of nice stuff then plops out the most awkward out of place thing and expects you to pay just as much for it as the better stuff.
