Badab Black - Anything else as good?

I love Badab Black. I have proabably used about 15-20 pots of it already since release. However I would like to buy it in bulk. Does anyone know if this is a GW made product or if it is licensed. Or something else that works just as well.
I like to matt finish and staining ability. I have tried army painter and Didi's Magic ink as well as many other washes that do not work as well.
Badab Black is just getting too expensive. at $5 a 12ml pot

Probably not made by GW directly.
Honestly, I'd be a bit surprised if you were able to find out who the actual manufacturer was (if not GW), at this pont.
Don''t know of anything as good. LBursley (from Dakka), IIRC, makes and sells washes. Don't know how they compare.
At $5 a pot... that's ridiculous. You thought about approaching a discount retailer & seeing if you could get a greater discount for a HUUUUUUUGE purchase?

Vallejo has a series of washes that, from what I understand, are supposed to be an exact color match for the new GW washes. I know that the Sepia and black are sold in both 17ml and 200ml bottles. I haven't gotten around to getting any yet, so I guess try it and see.
Found some here:

And here at the Warstore as well:

Hope this helps.

I will get my hobby store to order in some of that Vallejo wash, and I think i will actually try that magic wash... it seams to make sense. I was worried about shineyness but adding a dullcoat later would fix it.

One recomendation if you make your own. Get some distilled water. There's no telling what is in your tap water that could affect the paint.

Let us know how the Vallejo stuff works out. I've kinda been wanting to try it. If it's the same, I'll probably pick some up when I run out of the GW stuff.

You could try Tamiya Smoke (which I personally prefer, as it flows into cracks better and is more a dark gray, then stark black shade)
