Question about Space Marines -who to ally with Inq.

Hi there,
Backstory: I am making an Apocalypse force for the Inquisition. Daemon Hunters and Witch Hunters, with some Imperial Guard armor.
I am wanting to add some basic Space Marines and I have not picked up a codex at this point. All I will be adding are troops and chapter specific special characters, if applicable. So the question is, which chapter should I do if I am trying to maintain a "fluffy" army?
My hopeful criteria:
1.) Cannot be Space Wolves or Dark Angels - there is a large local representation of each, and I think I read that SW don't much care for Grey Knights, so the fluff-factor would not be as nice as I am trying for.
2.) Relatively easy to paint chapter scheme - I am a mediocre painter at best.
I have been thinking of Ultramarines due to the ease of painting. The added bonus is that locally, everyone hates them and so there are none to be found. There also seems to be a decent amount of Ultramarine character models available, which makes this chapter fairly appealing to me.
Do Ultramarines get along well with the Inquisition? Do any chapters get along with WH/DH better than them?
Thanks for any advice.

I would think the UltraMarines would be your best bet
As black templar don't like them because they use psychics
Blood angels don't like them because the inquisition went after them
Same for the Space Wolves
DA have too many secrets to keep to be allies with the inquisition
Other chapters might be imperial/crimson fists
Salamanders
or any "codex" chapter really,I think

Relictors get along great with radical Daemonhunters. Back when I was designing a DH army, I was making my marines relictors.

Also, remember that the special characters in the back of the book are no longer army specific.
I know you wish to maintain a sense of fluff, I just wanted to remind you of that.
For the most part any of the codex chapters would be fairly game to hook up with inq. There are some exceptions If you do some digging you will find that allot of the 13th founding chapters (Black dragons for example) have unstable geneseed and might have some problems. Other codex chapters are on the line (any of the chapters that re-joined the imperium after the Badab incident) such as the Mantis Warriors, Lamentors, and Executioners.
Then again I'm more than likely digging to far into fluff. Basically if you want to stick with known chapters
Ultramarines
Salamanders
Imperial Fists
Crimson Fists
Raven Guard
Iron Hands
Though from what you are saying I vote in favor of the Ultramarines simply becuase it will really stick in their craw when they get b-slapped by the boys in blue. That and they are really easy to paint

Space Wolves get along fine with the Inquisition. See the SW Omnibus and the 1st Battle of Armageddon for examples. It's the Adepts of Terra they have problems with.
EDIT: Idea - Take Pedro and use Sternguard to represent Death Watch.

Blood angels so you can give furious charge to grey knight termies (and fnp), and to sisters before you use the faith things to make st 6 basic sisters on the charge... Now think about the evisorator sisters with fc...eiwww
but yeah 3A, ws5, st7, in5, 2+sv and fnp termies are silly... Not to mention if you took the sanginor for +1 attack

Thanks for all the input and advice. I had never heard of the Relictors so I looked them up. The fluff would work I think, and the paint scheme is not too difficult. I do not have the White Dwarf with their special rules in it so that is a downside, but it looks like the specific army list is no longer valid so I could just run them as fluffy plain marines.
I really like the Iron Hands, but the models seem to be fairly hard to come by, and I am looking to add 100-150 troops, so buying them direct would be more cash than I can spend at the moment.
I had considered the Legion of the Damned, but due to my lack of painting abilities, they would end up looking laughably bad.
Right now, I am leaning heavily towards Ultramarines due to paint scheme, lack of local presence, and special characters (have to maintain fluff

), but still considering the Iron Hands and Relictors. I will mull it over for a little while and see what happens.
Thanks again for all the advice, it has helped quite a lot.

I think the smurfs would be your best bet. As you may know, they are one of the chapters the INQ would have the least issues with and would trust the most.
Of course, the most important thin that speaks for them is, as you have said, the lack of local presence and that none of the locals 'like them". As generally, in the fluff, everyone distrusts the inquisition and have smurf lapdogs that no one likes anyway "makes it worse'. Go for it and be sure to make pious stements during the game and play it for all it's worth. It can lead to freindly rivalry and much more fun in your gaming group.

Relictors would be a bad idea since they are currently excommunicate traitorus.

If you are running a radical DH army, the Relictors would be even more perfect now that they are excommunicate traitorus.
The old rules from WD which gave you Daemon gear was pretty awesome.

If you REALLY want strongly allied space marines you can play Red Hunters. They are known for their fanatical loyalty to the Inquisition. They are almost like their own Militant Order under the Inquisition.

That sounds good but they are not as universally hated by the actual 40k players. Most at my local shop will concentrate on killing them (ultramarines) off for general purposes having a contest as to who could rack up the highest smurf count.
