WYSIWYG Help.

Okay. As we all probably know 'Ard Boyz is on the horizon and I am scrambling to get my army put together. I play Chaos Daemons and had a question about WYSIWYG.
I have three daemon princes all of which I have given Daemonic flight, now, I have one which I have not actually modeled wings onto. Reading the codex the gift reads " Great pinioned wings unfathomable arcane powers enable the daemon to make great bounding leaps across the battlefield...". Would I have to model wings in order to stay WYSIWYG?

Ok this guy is from my store.

When I sold him the nurgle daemon prince I asked him if he wanted to order any wings (last week) he said 'no'.

He them came back later and asked why he would need wings for the ard boyz, I said that because the ard boyz rules says
any armor, weapons, and upgraded must be modeled on the miniatures (wysiwyg)
, I said he MUST have something represented on the model to show wings (anything).

A few days ago he pmed me saying he called GW and they confirmed his side. I told him straight up that the call people do not make the rules, just like battle bunker workers. If it isn't in the FAQ online then it's up to the TO (me) to call it. I said he must make it so someone walking up to the table could tell it had wings or something to increase it's speed. He said "ok".

This is a ard boyz rule. Allupgrades must be represented. Period.

If he doesn't want to adhear then either the daemon prince will not be allowed to be used with wings or he does not get to play.

Again I am his TO.

If you read the 'ardboyz rules, it states that weapons, armor and upgrades must be represented on the model. Since Daemonic Flight is an upgrade for a DP, you have to do something to model it in order to meet the WYSIWYG requirement. It doesn't necessarily have to be wings, though. A local guy out here uses two large turbines molded into a sort of jump pack on the old nurgle DP model. It works. You just need something to represent the fact that it can fly.

If I look at the model, does it look like it should be able to fly somehow?

Jump Pack? Wings? Turbines? Flying Carpet?

Don't care which mechanism, as long as it's obviously a flying model.

The most important point:
The TO gets the last word on it.

That being said, reading the description of the ability, it does not indicate that he must have some visible mechanism for flight.

With that in mind would you, as TO (EZ) allow him to use it as flying if he modeled something on the base, like a bird or flying thing? What if there was some sort of flight based familiar on the model's shoulder?

Just wondering.

Model the Nurgle DP's base to look like a floating rock and then mount it on a flying stand base of similar size. Problem solved and you don't have to do any extreme conversion to put wings on the fat bastard.

I honostly don't care, I just read the ard boyz rule to mean that u should be able to look accross and tell what each mini has.

If a daemon prince has a psycic lift ability how would ur opponent know? Which is why wings are needed.

Oh and not that i'd say it but technically u can't model a jump pack on something with wings... Read the CSM FAQ. Says "a model with wings cannot have a jump pack but must be modeled with wings" or something.

But this is not a CSM model. It's a Chaos Daemons model. Different abilities.

Yeah the daemonprince with the same name and it doesn't just refer to daemon princes it had to do with deepstriking winged models.

Again I'd never call anyone on it as it's the only case we're gw talks about what u can't do model wise.

If I was going to mode a Nurgle DP, I'd make him look like Mojo from the X-Men comics.

Honestly i was thinking of just pinning him about an inch above his base with cotton strands under his feet painted greenish black to make the look of rocket boots.

You could just expand on it and make it look like a cloud.
