Need help with glue/epoxy for metal

I am putting together some metal models and the superglue keeps breaking. Is there say an epoxy or something after you have put it together with superglue that will create a better bond? What do people use. Anything local at a hardware store or Wal Mart type? Thanks for the help!!!!

With metal models I use standard CA (cyanoacrylate) or if the parts are heavy I'll pin the bits and then slap on some CA. I only find problems with breakage if I don't pin. What models are you having problems with? If you don't mind my asking.

pin the parts and use a mix of green stuff and supperglue (u mix it together in the gap).
or just do 2 or 3 pins in it with supper glue

If you're having problems with a metal model holding with super glue alone(and, with bigger ones, you WILL), you should pin the pieces together.
Forgive me if you're aware of this... You can get "pin vices" or "hand drills" from GW and many other gaming supply companies or craft/hobby places.
Buy some brass rod and matching sized drill bits (or use metal paperclips with matching drill bits), drill holes in each piece to be attached (ensure that you match up your holes) and you'll be fine.
Generally speaking, you can get away with one pin on most bits, regardless of size, but you should drill the hole deeper on larger pieces.
Hope this helps.

The figures are Lord of the Rings figures. They are not large or heavy figures like a troll but they keep snapping. I thought about going with an epoxy. I know Gorilla Glue makes an epoxy also. The figures are not mine or I would pin them.

That is exactly what I do. I have a kitbashed Deamon prince and Greater Deamon of Tzeentch where the wings were attached by this very fashion. I've been playing with it for over 2 years now and I have not even seen those wings wiggle a bit.

Well, I don't think metal troop models need to be pinned. MCs do need to be pinned, but not you standard troop mini. Before gluing, remember to clean your models, as dirt and grime can cause the glue to not stick well. Might also help to "rough up" the surface.

Why does it matter who they belong to?
Are you not wanting to pin them because you think the owner might object (He won't. Trust me)? Or is it because you don't want to spend that much time/effort on someone else's models (in which case, IMO, you shouldn't be doing it in the first place)?
@ Ironhide
I have to disagree. I played DH when they first came out, and I pinned every arm onto every model... once the arms started dropping off...
I clean and assemble well. Heavy bits of metal and little (repeated) amounts of strain and stress build up on models. One pin per appendage is AMAZING. Also, it makes unusual poses even better, due to the strength.

I've got 2 10-man GK squads and 1 5-man GK Termie squad, only used glue on them, and the arms have never fallen off. So, I guess YMMV.

Oh, definitely.
No doubting that.
I'm just of the "Better safe than sorry" mind set.

I use Loctite super glue (commonly available at big hardware stores in my area) and have NEVER had any models break without some level of dire intervention (like a cat swiping it onto a concrete floor). However, it is mostly used by me to attach plastic to metal, instead of metal to metal.

That's what I use, and I've had no problem with metal on metal. I've also heard people swear by Gorilla Glue.

LOL
I use Loctite, but I will ONLY use the big, hard plastic, stand up container.
Whenever I use the tubes, I get one use out of them before the nozzle clogs up so bad that it can't be cleaned out (I've tried). I even tried replacing the nozzle with a nozzle from a different brand. Same thing. :shrugs:
I also like the brand of superglue they carry at Home Depot. I forget the brand... but it's not the *original* "Super Glue."

I think superglue just doesn't like you, MM.
