I have been relentlessly cataloging all of the things I'm planning on putting on Bartertown, including the exact listing of cards contained in a box of several hundred. As you can imagine, this takes up a tremendous amount of space in letters.
When I finally compile everything and post my haves/wants for trades and whatnot, how much of that am I allowed to post?
Is it considered rude or inconsiderate to have gigantic multi-post-spanning listings in multiple Bartertown subforums?
Should I post general listings such as "100 Mechwarrior: Dark Age clix models" with an addendum that users can PM me for detailed listings?
I have a lot of stuff and I want to be as specific as possible so that I retain some measure of credibility as a new user, but I don't want to break any unwritten social rules that exist here on Bartertown.

That is fine. In fact, if you get too specific, you can possibly scare away the traders with the 2 second attention span.Should I post general listings such as "100 Mechwarrior: Dark Age clix models" with an addendum that users can PM me for detailed listings?

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

It's like they say... "a picture is worth 1000 words".
put up a couple of pics and a breif description then a clear line were u say WANTS and list either what u are looking for or put a price next to individual minis or lots.

Also... I don't know the # off-hand, but there IS a character limit on posts. It's pretty high, but you sound like you'll hit it.

If you've got a LOT of cards, it's probably OK to only bother listing rares / chase cards, and just let people know uncommons / commons are available, along with full trade lists of cards. If somebody wants more info, they'll let you know.

Re: Amount of Detail Tolerated
All the technical stuffs aside, I like detail. If you provide too much detail then I'll just forget/ignore what I don't want to know, but at least you're giving me a choice by including it and being specific. I figure better safe than sorry. I'd rather someone be annoyed because I talk too much rather than angry *bad refs
* because I was short on details, or worse - assumptions were made.
