Pricing question

Post by BarmyBob »

I have some ltd ed models Im looking to sell. Namely a couple of Forge World Games Day Kroot Birds. I have no idea what they are worth and I was wondering if anyone here had sold any of them in the past and around what they got for them.
Ive seen them go on EBay anywhere from $25-$100 in the past, but who knows if those were actual sales or they were set up auctions with the seller having several accounts and bumping the bids.
ANy help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Bob

There was someone trying to get rid of one of those on here a while ago.
I think he must've had that thing listed for about 4 months or more. I don't recall his cost, but I recall thinking it wasn't too expensive for an OOP LE FW model.

Probably won't get a lot.

The unfortunate truth about that model is that even though it IS Forgeworld and it IS a limited edition, it's also quite useless for gameplay unless you're doing some kind of wacky proxy or conversion. Hence, I've never seen that figure do particularly well when it's up for sale.

agreed. i play the tau and i can't think of any use for a krootbird, even a limited FW one. i'd say keep trying to get a reasonable price (like slightly more than retail for a similarly sized item in the regular 40k line) but don't push it as it's a very limited market you're trying to cater to (the "i want everything FW ever made" collector). there was a guy here who kept posting a gamesday racing nob for ridiculous prices week after week (as well as on every other forum trading site) claiming it was "going" for $80+ on ebay. sure, there was one for sale on ebay for that price but it had been there for the past 90 days relisted constantly because no one wanted to pay that much. it wasn't "going" anywhere. the guy's own auction for half that amount didn't garner a single bid either.

You could get some Final Fantasy 10 models and mount them on the choco....urm, uh,...kroot bird.
