Looking for intel on a web retailer of airbrushes...

Post by TheRhino »

I asked SantaWife for an airbrush for XMas. I did the research, and found a great price on a package through buyairbrushes.com. The wife went ahead and bought the kit on Dec 3rd, and payment immediately cleared from her account.
Problem is, she hasn't heard back from the retailer since. Not a peep. Calling their phone number goes to voicemail after about 10-15 rings.
From the research I've done, I've found some complaint threads on a bass fishing message board about the retailer's poor customer care practices, whcih came as a surprise since all the reviews I'd read previously were sparkling.
Then I discovered that this guy also operates on eBay using the seller ID of auction*air. Looks like all the exact same product photos and descriptions. Sells the same packages and kits as the website. The one variation is that all the web addresses on the packaging in the photos has been blurred out, though you can still read it if you know what you're looking at.
The business is listed as operating out of Ogden, Utah. But the phone number reverse lookup pings to Magna, Utah.

Anyone buy from this guy either via the website, or via eBay?

I've never heard of nor bought from this outfit, but I do live in Utah. I drive right by Magna every day to and from work. If you get me an address I can tell you where it is and even go by there to see what's what.

Never heard of them.

Bear Air, OTOH, has been out there for decades.

Youngwolf777 drives by there on his way to and from work, but the Magna City line is a few blocks from my house.

What's the addresss Todd? I would love to rattle this guy's chain and see if I can't help improve the service  . And I can't tell if this was a paypal payment or not. If it is, you'll be in luck and will be covered (or nearly covered). If not, and it was via CC, you may not be out of luck either.

I can drive by tomorrow if you'll PM me the address.

Lower BT ratings ships first; paypal preferred. Reply to PMs, even with a "no thanks." I may lag, but I will reply!

Please try to leave a ref for each transaction. I always will. It tells myself and others what kind of trade partner I am!

Unfortunately, I can't find the street address in Magna unless I pay for it.
The listed street address is in Ogden.

Thankfully, after a friendly call from our bank, my wife received an email stating that the shipment was en-route. We'll see how long it takes to show up.

Just an update...no airbrush yet.
The "company" is still completely unresponsive to our emails and voicemails. They don't even pick up their phone.
The wife is now filling out the paperwork to have the money refuded via our bank. She ordered on Dec 3rd, got an immediate FedEx tracking number, and her account was charged.
As of today, no response since the "your item shipped, thanks." email. The FedEx tracking number is bogus. We called FedEx, and they said the number was generated, but nothing was ever picked up or shipped.

I'd avoid buyairbrushes.com like the plague. I'm looking for equivalently-priced alternatives now.
