Gah! Searching...

Okay, so my brother in law wants to get into 40k, playing Tau. So... I want to help him spend the least amount of money possible so I'm thinking, "Hey... BT is the place to go for a good deal!" (shameless plug which is kinda useless doing it WHERE it's for... lol) So, I go to the 40k sales area...

"Damn, I dont' want to hand sift through all of these... hey! great, there's a search feature!"

(enter in "Tau" and hit search...)

"Tau is too common."

(head scratching, thinking to self, not damn common enough that I can find it easy amidst all these posts...)

(enter in "Tau army" and hit search...)

"Tau army is too common"

This goes on for a few mins as I try various combinations of things even "Tau for sale" and everything was "too common"

So..... how the heck do I search for Tau for sale in the 40k area???

Would appreciate anything my "obviously unkowning" self can find out about how to search without having to page through pages of posts to find individual tau listings amidst the posts....

I've got the same issue.

I tried *Tau I tried +Tau (I even tried "(asterix)Tau" just because)

I also have the same problem when searching for white dwarf magazines. white dwarf / "white dwarf" +white +dwarf all come up with "word too common"

Tau* worked for me.

Of course then I can't search for a while after a successful one.

I searched using Tau* and it only came up with one item. With some manual browsing it should have come up with several items on the first page alone.

In case you thought this was just a standard user kind of thing, this happens to me sometimes also. One day the "tau*" will produce mad results, other days not so much.

You could also search for things that you might want within the tau army, so maybe something like "Tau Crisis" or "Tau Battlesuit" or "Tau Fire/Firewarrior", that might help!
