Help Please

Post by Eric von Reyn »

:-D Good morning.

Like a dunderhead I sold my Napoleonic references around 10 years ago. Recently came into much unpainted lead.

Have references for most.

Need Painiting info for Wurtemburg Line Artillery.

Can any of you chaps help me out? Have access to Guard Artillery. Need line!

Thanks Bartertown.

Eric

I have the wurttemberg army for 1809. the artillery at that time wore light or cornflower blue coats and pants, faced black. They wore the crested helmet. I believe the leather equipment is white. there may be some minor distinctions between line and horse artillery. I'll check tonight and let you know.

My reference book says the following for Wurttemberg:

The foot artillery wore Bavarian-style crested, black leather helmets, brass buttons, light blue tunics, lapels and breeches, black collar, cuffs and turnbacks, tin buttons and shoulder scales, white belts. Horse artillery had yellow turnvacks with wide black braid edging, hussar boots.

Eric,
You can see examples of the uniforms on the Hat Figures site. www.hat.com. Look at the box art and look at the various painted test shots. Hat box 8232 under 8000 series, category Muskets.

It's not that they don't understand the answer... it's that they don't understand the question.
