Anyone having intermittant connection issue lately, getting

Post by warhammerpainters »

I am not complaining at all...I am trying to provide constructive feedback in order to troubleshoot potential server problems??? I will reserve the right to be dead wrong and I guess there is a small chance it is just me(my machine...), but I have my doubts...very strong doubts...

I keep having to resend/reopen windows almost every PM I try to send and/or forum thread I try to read/respond to.

It has gotten to the point I now ctrl-C EVERY PM before I hit send because I am 85-95% sure it will lose BTown on the back-end and my well thought out PM will be lost. So I learned to cut and paste. Tonight for example, it took me upwards of 5 tries per PM before they finally went through, and 45 minutes to send 6-7 PM's. Also opening forum threads is hit and miss as well. Sometimes they open and then ALL functions work fine for ~2 minutes...then things start to timeout and connection trouble for ~5 minutes, repeat this cycle all night long. This seems to be mostly at night 12:00am to 3:00 am or so EST.

I also get it a little bit during the day at work too but not as bad(yes I am a bad IT guyu and surf BTown while at work :) ) Isn't life great...

I hope this can help troubleshooting and if I can help with any testing let me know,
Todd

Anyone else having connection issues lately???

OK, I just forgot to cut and paste that last PM posting :)

I am not retyping it all.

The ghist is, when submitting PM/opening forum threads lately (2 weeks now or so...) the PM is often lost due to server connection problems. It takes several frustrating minutes to send a PM and/or open a thread. Is this happening to anyone else or is it just me?

2nd try to post...

Update:
OK I guess it did go thru the first time even though I got a timeout screen..., but I don't see the "*" icon on my previous post if that means anything...???

I'm posting from Japan both from my home PC and my iPhone with no problems. If there were connection problems I imagine I'd be getting even more lag issues.

And.. to the OP.. you DID succeed the first time, as just below this post is your original post.

I have had occasional "not wanting to load' hiccups, but when I check, generally whatever I was doing, went thru just fine.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

It has been slow to load pages/pm's for the last couple of days for me. I have not had anything become lost that I can tell though.

Perhaps that is why a particular fellow I have been trying to purchase from refuses to reply to pm's? :-x I kid, I kid...sort of.

If I owe you a reference, please remind me.

I've had zero connections problems from work OR hame lately, though I did have to try to open my PM inbox 3 or 4 times before it actually opened tonight.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

BTW, I've gone ahead and merged the two topics, since they're about the same issue.

Currently I have 100% success rate with opening my Inbox. It does take about 30 seconds to load. I do have 600+ messages in it.

I lose about 25% of my PMs. The back button always restores them and I do not see 2x failure.

The regular forums load quickly.

For the sake of argument, lets say I never look at PMs during the weekend
