Hi!
I was wondering what suggestions people had for making Gue’vesa or Counts-As Firewarriors?
I have heard using the Imperial Guard Catachan Jungle Fighters. It would work but I don't care for the looks of them, they don't have armor per se and are kinda ugly.
I was looking at the Imperial Guard Cadian Shock Troops. They looks like the same shapes/poses. They have armor and helmets and lasguns.
Does anyone think that these would work?
Any suggestions on what I could use for counts as firewarriors? I have heard of people using lizardmen, but I don't know what models they are talking about. Any other ideas?
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks

You can always look at bit swaps.
I've seen Firewarrior bodies/arms with Cadian heads. That didn't look too bad.
I've seen Cadian heads & legs on Firewarrior torsos. Not too bad, either.
I would say to get a box of Firewarriors and a box of Cadians. Mix & match a couple until you find the mix that suits you.

You could always just use kroot parts like head, arms (switch the gun to be a pulse whatever), sholderpads, sculpt kneepads and some pants that look like they ripped them getting them long legs in em.
See if you do a whole army u can get away with it, just imagine a pirana with kroot heads (with banzai head bands) I mean the tau fish people can't possible want to go that fast can they?
Anyway it's a lotof work but u already have the parts to do it now if u have anything tau like.

Re: Tau Human Auxiliaries (Gue’vesa) or Counts-As Firewarrio
Thanks for the advice so far!
I think I will try the Cadians/Firewarriors route first. It seems to be more of a sure bet.
I do like the idea of incorporating more kroot into the Tau models. It would be some advanced sculpting and such. I haven't done anything that fancy yet, but it doesn't sound too hard.
As far as other counts-as options, I will have to keep digging around.
Lizardmen?
Eldar I have heard works, but possibly look awkward due to size differences.
I have seen one conversion done with necrons to make droid looking ones. http://advancedtautactica.com/viewtopic ... 10#p172510

Why stop at Human Auxilaries, it is the Tau Empire afterall. Skaven, Lizards, Beastmen, and just about any fantasy line will have something that you can use to mix with Tau parts to get a great looking model.
For Humans, I'd spend a bit more time, and convert some Necromunda or Mordheim models. If you're not worried about sanctioned tournaments Wargames Factory is about to release some really nice looking sci-fi greatcoats that I'd try out.
