couple of issues (formatting & email notifications)

Yeah I checked it and realized what I thought was happening, wasn't. I'd say check your spam box.

Got this "topic reply notification" just fine though....like I said, weirdly arbitrary.

3.) It is continuously not functioning - I received the "Topic Reply Notification" for this posting from you just fine. But I do not receive ANY "PM received" notices. This functionality used to work just fine until .... oh, several days to a week or so ago. Then it just stopped.

One thing I just now realized though - Email notification for PMs stopped working after I adjusted my "time displayed" UTC to something closer to my east coast USA time, instead of 5 hours off Greenwich meantime (which was about a week ago or so). I just switched it back, so I'll let you know if that has an effect

Maybe try a another e-mail address? Just to see if it is that e-mail account or this site. You know, eliminate the suspects.

??? Ironhide, that makes no sense.

Bartertown.com can send me emails to let me know that you have written this topic reply, but it can't send me PM notification emails - to the same address?

(sigh) I'll give it a try later today and see if it works, but I'm not holding my breath.

My line of thinking is that maybe the message header "New Private Message has arrived" somehow got added to a filter setting.

Just checked my email - no filter settings there, except for 1 person's email address who is NOT btown and has been blocked for several years now.

I also went through my Trash folder, and found that the last time Btown successfully sent me a "You have a PM message" was on Sept 26th - after that, nada.

Finally, all the Topic Reply notifications and PM notifications have the same sender: admin@bartertown.com.

So a blocking filter for email address would not only stop the PMs, it'd stop the Topic replys too (which is not the case here - I continue to receive the one and not the other).

And I can assure you that I have definitely NOT set up a filter within the last 5 days for messages with the subject "New private message has arrived"

I didn't think you had. I was thinking maybe you've got one of those e-mails that automatically adds it to the filter list if you delete it without reading.

So now we know for sure that it is a site issue. Have you sent TrademasterAdam a PM about this problem? If not, do so and CC Lin and MM. Be advised though that TMA will get to it when he has time (which isn't much these days).

Unfortunately, that's going to be a tech issue... which is soundly an "Adam" issue.

I totally agree with your reasoning. My post was just to let the user know that, unfortunately, we won't be able to do anything to fix it.

Okay, 2 "admin notifications" showed up in my Email today.

Apparently at random, since I didn't receive any notice from Adam/Lin or anyone else.

Annnnnnd - it stopped working again. Argghhh!!!! What the heck is going on here? Was that like an evil tease - I get messages for 2 days and then it stops again? WTH?
