Does your Warning Level reduce over time?

Post by El Jefe »

In other words does it go away if your not a repeat offender?

I recently was issued a warning after posting an e-bay sales thread in the wrong forum. (I was distracted and posted it in the other sci fi category, Miscellaneous Futuristic one below it by mistake)
It was a brain fart on my behalf and the watchman was courteous enough.
I guess I just want to know if this honest mistake is going to be a permanent black mark on my record here?

Thanks for any and all assistance.

Yes.
We will hold it against you forever.

In fact, it's been reported to all 3 major credit reporting agencies, your employer, your spouse and your parents.

Additionally, your kids will inherit it, should they begin using the site.

 LOL

After, IIRC, 90 days it drops off.
If I'm off on the time frame 9that's from the top of my head), it's not likely by more than 30 days, either way.

My understanding is that it sticks around for 6 months. Not 3.

I don't think this is a 3-strikes-and-YEROut! likelyhood..

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

Right. Definitely on a case-by-case basis.

I suppose, *Purely* in the interest of science, I can slap a Warning on ol' Eric there.. something along the lines of "Compulsive poster, rarely adds anything to discussions, troll tendencies" and we can see how long it takes to slide off ...

1) Trolling? Puh-lease. Not I.
2) Rarely adds to discussions? Pshah! Just by READING a discussion, I enhance it.
3) Compulsive poster? Umm... So, anyway...

As for how long it takes to slide off... I'm thinking minutes... HOURS, at best.
