Subject line says most of what I need... does anyone know how the Command Decision Minis compare to the FoW sculpts (mainly interested in US Paratrooper sculpts) - I was thinking of getting the dead and wounded stretcher teams, but I wanna know if they are similar in quality to FoW before I order.
Thanks,
Dave

CD personnel figs seem to vary across product lines and I don't recall the size of their US Para's (for which I mainly use FoW), but for novelty stuff it shouldn't be critical?Crestion du Sable wrote:Subject line says most of what I need... does anyone know how the Command Decision Minis compare to the FoW sculpts (mainly interested in US Paratrooper sculpts) - I was thinking of getting the dead and wounded stretcher teams, but I wanna know if they are similar in quality to FoW before I order.
FWIW, CD vehicles shouldn't be bought sight unseen.

Re: Flames of War vs. Command Decision Minis
I hope this isn't considered threadjacking, but I have a question about the various 15mm sizing for various companies. Are the Command Decision models or Old Glory figures the same SIZE? I know they are supposed to be all the same, but I have heard stories about different sizes on 15mm figures.
I found a website that sells Old Glory cheap (and some variant Italian tanks would be cool) BUT I don't want to send them money and then get the Old Glory tanks that just don't match.

All of the CD lines I've looked at - and several other manufacturers, especially _Battle Honors_ but also True North, Minifgs; I don't recall re: QC - are smaller than FoW. Glancing earlier, the CD/OG French seem suspiciously burly, too... A cynic might suggest that FoW figs are *larger*, which has several advantages - Citadel's old S-F 15's were similarly bulky.Adunaphel wrote:I hope this isn't considered threadjacking, but I have a question about the various 15mm sizing for various companies. FWIW, while I've been warned away from CD/OG vehicles I just grabbed & compared some and the results weren't bad, e.g.:
Matilda ~5%? ... there may be a small difference; unsure
Pz IV, Sherman <5% - no difference?
I'd put most CD/OG personnel figs in the first category - yes, there is a difference IMHO but it may not matter to many consumers.
BTW, getting your Italian tanks in pewter just so you can claim that they're better armored than resin FoW ones seems a bit desperate, even if warranted ;>

Hey, these tiny Italian tanks need as much help as they can get.
Thanks for the answer Steven. I hope that helps the original poster also. I might buy a few and see how the sizes work.

Edit: I think Command Decision IS Old Glory for WWII 15mm.
I'm sorry, I'm new to the WWII Minis.
