new btr

Post by gwaddict »

So I am trying to add a bad trader report to the BTR forum and noticed that I am missing a couple of his early pms, the ones I have clearly show the agreed upon trade/terms. Wanted to see if there was a way to get the others back and how to insert pms into the forum, when I copied and pasted they looked liked text I could just edit, wanted to see if there is something special I have to do. Strange that I got potentially hosed and im worried about getting banned for posting incorrectly :-D

I can't help you recover messages, but I can tell you that it's all the more reason to save copies of all messages in an off-line file.

When you open a PM by him, there's another window below the PM that shows all of the previous PM's in that "string."
Is is not in there?

Another reason why the "Quote" feature is still handy.

BTW... How do you not have the earlier PMs? If your Inbox THAT full? If so, try changing your preferences. Instead of having your oldest PM's deleted to make room for your newest PMs, have your new PMs go into your "Saved" folder if there's no room for them in your inbox.

Also... and I'm living in a glass house, here... clean out your inbox.

naw, thats whats weird, I have the chain of pms below his most recent and my most recent responses. But for some reason there are gaps. I thought when you replied to an email the entire chain was saved in the new response. is that not the case...cause when i get 10 emails from someone finalizing a trade I have been keeping only the most recent, assuming that all the other aer in the string behind it....assuming of course they have the same topic name.... hmph.

Well thanks for the replies I will post that BTR wish me luck :-D

To my understanding, the PMs are only kept in that "string" if you keep the PMs in your inbox.

No you can move them to saved also and they will be in the string. The weird thing is I have Pm's I have deleted and only kept the current one and the string is still there.

Yeah... I wasn't even thinking about it. Basically, I mean "undeleted." LOL

Also... you'll have the whole "string" if you quoted emails in newer ones before deleting the older ones.
