What do I do now?

If the package was shipped from Utah, use the return address and send a letter w/DC explaining everything in detail and what your plans are. Sure the DC may cost you a few pennies but I would. If the reason for no response is he is gone, someone at that addy should know how to get in touch with him. Just write "B-town trade" on the back of the envelope and someone there should open it.

The OP (original poster) stated that the guy is from Israel, not Utah.Ollieb wrote:If the package was shipped from Utah, use the return address and send a letter w/DC explaining everything in detail and what your plans are. (Though sending a letter to the return address IS still a good idea)

Lower rating? You ship first.
Give me a sense of humor Lord. Give me the grace to see a joke.
To get some humor out of life and pass it on to other folk.
I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Want my help with a BTR or backout? All messages sent/posted should be in CHRONOLOGICAL order. Otherwise, I just won't read it.

(OT) re: Delivery Confirmation
FWIW, I recommend using Delivery Confirmation (or an equivalent) on every trade - if it's not worth the cost (75 cents US Post?) then the trade isn't worth doing IMHO.Ollieb wrote:Sure the DC may cost you a few pennies but I would

I'd take a picture of the items and, if you still have the box, the postmark, postage, and return address.
I'd also notify the sender that you will post in the bad trader forum after a month. Read the forum rules for what you need to do there.
Sending a letter to the return address isn't a bad idea.

Hello all!
It is me who dragons lair04 has traded with, and I just want to make it very clear to everyone who got a bad impression what is actually going on.
Thouse figures aren't mine, they are my brother's, who packed and gave me the description on the closed content of the box without me checking (that is not an excuse, but can explain stuff that was missing in the initial package). The package was sent first as part of a trade to another guy in Utah, but the trade fell because by the time the package arrived him, his models were no longer in his possession, and we could not finish the trade. When he asked me what I want to do, I told him to hold the package in his home and as soon as I find another trade in the US, he will ship it to him. Luckily, Dragon lair showed interest and the package was shipped to him.
I just want to clarify that the package was in the first guys possession for almost two weeks, and he might have opened it and glued some stuff up that I am not aware of.
As soon as the figs arrived to Dragons lair04, he contacted me and claimed that the figs are not exactly as described. All of us experience packages that are mishandled, some stuff might have arrived broken, as the chariots are large and fragile models, although I packed them as securly as I could have. and I clearly stated (and I quote from a pm I sent to him on Fri Dec 07, 2007 8:39 am) "2 chariot units (3 chariots each) - Chariots in both units are assembled, the crewman's are not glued. about 4 are painted , to about two of them there are minor repairs to make to the spear socket bit." The minor repairs refer to broken spear sockets, which are breeze to glue back to place, which I didn't fixed myself as I was worried that the handling of the package might break them again.
Anyway, as soon as he contacted me (he had every right, it was my problem not double checking the description I was given) I PMed him back and told him I will take care of it right away, and couple of days later I messaged him that a package with all of the missing parts is on its way to him and that I will agree to add some more bucks to the trade to make up for the delay and the inconvenience of the whole ordeal.
Anyway, since I shipped the items, I was waiting for a conformation from his that he has the items, and during that period (bout two weeks) I haden't PMed him (hate to be a nuseince), I am really sorry that I haden't PM you daily asking how are you.
Two weeks later I got a PM from him asking what's up, I told him that he will please allow few more days for the shipping to arrive, that's when he posted here, complaining I am not replying his PM (WHAT?!?!?) and asking what to do with a horrible, unresponsive, shameless trader like me...
Anyway, he got his package few days after he posted this message, on the 17 January, and I haven't heard from him since then.
It really upsets me that after all the trouble I went to make sure he will be as satisfied as I can, replying every single message I got from him, and generally going out of my way to be as helpful as possible; I get to see this kind of accusations online.
I hope to conclude this trade successfully now he has all of the missing parts, in conjunction with the monetary compensation I'm sending.
Dragon lair04, I don't wan't to judge you by this single incident, I saw you had other problem with another trade you got ripped off on, and I feel that your feeling from that trade radiate into our trade. It is just one of those situations that happen sometimes to good people like you and me that are just trying to get a trade going.
And please think resonably, if I was trying to con you, I would have never sent the package first so you could discover my evil plan to take all you minis
, it was a honest mistake.
Hope this clerifies all, warmest regards from Israel

P.M. I never though I needed to write such detailed explanation to what happned, that was tiring...

The "Bad Trade" was the lack of comunication between us, not that figs weren't sent. I wasn't going to ship my stuff until the stuff I was promised was complete. And with no comunication from his part I wasn't sure what to do so i came on here for advice.
Now that he has finally contacted me, I believe we can get this trade finished, which is what I was wanting this post to do.
I wasn't trying to keep his models but wasn't going to ship mine out either when I didn't get everything promised or in the condition promised.
Knowing the situation now (he didn't let me know what was going on until now), I can see why the stuff wasn't in the condition he said. I just hope we can get it all finished up without any more problems or delays.
